Why does everyone find it impossible that "Bruce will never be hired back at UT".....now I agree its highly unlikely...BUT...as long as Bruce stays around the community and has a few years behind him and the infraction...it becomes more and more possible...still not likely...and based on conversations I've had with others who are a lot closer to the situation than we are....Its not out of the realm of possibility....after all...he didnt kill anybody...

I don't think anyone can say he definitely is not ever coming back. However, I completely disagree that the likeliness of him being hired at UT will increase as time passes with him in Knoxville.

A real debate is will UT honor Pearl in the distant future and remember him as the resurrectionist (with a banner, street name, statue, etc.)? Or will he be remembered for winning and cheating? IDK, that's a headscratcher to me.

Look at who did the hiring. It's going to take awhile to get the stain of Hamilton's crap out of the program. Serrano may end up being the only good hire.

It was actually Joan Cronan as interim AD who sealed the deal on Serrano.

If we let Buzz Peterson got 4 years, Martin deserves at least 3.

For those of you whining Martin should be fired after this year, if you got your wish, then you better not whine when UT can't get another quality coach to even pretend to want the job. No coach worth a crap would even entertain coming here if we fired Martin after 2 years that were hardly the worst they could be.

This off season was ridiculous though with all the Martin love....comments made by respected posters that they would not take any other coach in America over Zo, constant I'm so proud he is our coach praise, and very unrealistic predictions......if we make the tourney next yr, that kind of talk will return.

Martin was not their 1st or 5th call, I can assure you. I know it's hard to fathom, but not many people wanted this job.

That's not even remotely on topic with what I said. For some reason you're comparing Kentucky's coaching search with ours...and that's really comparing apples to oranges.

We could've thrown around 3 million a year and still wouldn't have gotten Izzo.

Like I said Martin wasn't our first call...if you don't think calls to Stevens and smart were made with very competitive offers you're mistaken. UT was turned down by a number of proven coaches and it wasn't because of money.

I have no idea what coaches nor offers were made and neither do you. What we do know is the first coach that got an offer he couldn't refuse was cuonzo.

Kentucky National Championships: 8

Tennessee National Championships: 0

Kentucky SEC Championships: 47

Tennessee Sec Championships: 9

But other than that, our programs are pretty comparable.

Refer to my comparison of Martin's history vs Coach K's. Martin's is better, and has had a better first two years than K at their respective big name programs. Let time (and the athletic director) determine when the coach should be let go.
