By "Cutcliffe's record at Duke", do you mean the 5 years without a winning season? 1 win over a top 25 team in 6 years? I mean, sure it's Duke, but it still isn't anything you would call impressive. I'm willing to bet there isn't another major program out there whose fanbase is saying "Man, what if we could hire David Cutcliffe?" That said, yeah, he would have probably been good enough for 8 wins a year here.
Cut didn't want the job here. Duke much better fit for him. Not as much pressure and he's having fun.
GO VOLS!
Duke also wanted to turn their program around. UT still had all those administrative issues until recently. Nobody wanted the job. The fact that Duke is 7-2 in itself is amazing considering BUTCH JONES :blink::no:never did that well at unc. The have impressive wins especially over Virginia Tech. Cut has done outstanding.
Cutcliffe is in his 5th year at Duke. Almost ALL coaches should see a winning season in their 5th Year. Cutcliffe = a winning season his 5th year. Butch Jones = National Championship in his 5th year.
I think everyone would be happy with 8 wins since right now we are desperate for 6 ...my bet is we it would be more like 9-10 wins
