Cutcliffe's record at Duke makes

Cut didn't want the job here. Duke much better fit for him. Not as much pressure and he's having fun.
GO VOLS!

The second time around not the first. He would have been a wise choice for a hold over but do not think he was a long term solution. Kiffin as many think was afraid of the SEC and full of BS. His 4 years of fame are up. Snake oil not on the shelves anymore.

Dooley had no frigging clue, but convinced a lot for a short while that he did. The key to his success was that he was a control freak and shut down all access to the program because he did not want any facts to slip out

me wonder what our situation would be like had he been hired in 2009 or 2010 instead of Kiffin and Dooley. Gotta say that I bet our situation would be pretty good....(not saying I don't like Butch)

Mute question. David is VERY happy at Duke and had/has no interest in the head coaching job at Tennessee. He is where he feels most comfortable. I hope he wins every game he coaches unless it is against Tennessee. He is a hell of a person and a very good coach.

Cutcliffe was the man for the job! The Vols blew it not getting him.

Cutcliffe is a great teacher and organizer...not dynamic enough to build a powerhouse, but well capable of maintaining one...at Duke, with low expectations and a patient fanbase, he found the perfect landing spot...be happy that Hamilton refused him his required autonomy and gave him an out...he would have coached us up and won a heck of a lot more games...but we had a future of midlevel conference status and endless VN threads on the subject :)

So you would rather have losing seasons instead of winning 8 or 9 games a year? Well U summed up what's wrong with your fan base!

"This isn't his first winning season."

It is at Duke.

2008 - 4-8
2009 - 5-7
2010 - 3-9
2011 - 3-9
2012 - 6-7
2013 - In progress.

Love Coach Cut to death though. He would have done much better here than Monte Jr. or Vince Jr. in my opinion.

I know it's not going to happen but it would give me a very comfortable feeling if Cut and the Chief were Butch's coordinators.

I considered last year a winning season because they did go to a bowl. But technically you're right because they lost their bowl game.

There was a loud and vocal minority that did not want anything to do with Fulmer's old staff, including Cutcliffe. The same crowd that was loudest in wanting to get rid of Fulmer. A bunch of "know it alls" that frankly deserve the last 4 years and should have their faces rubbed in it.:)

Cutcliffe is in a good position. He's at a school with no football expectations, and I think he enjoys it at this stage in his career.

cutcliffe wanted to bring his own staff and not inherit any of fulmers current staff. However; i can only recall one person remaining from the fulmer staff that was also on the kiffin staff.....

Mute point!

I, personally, think that cutcliffe did a good job at ole piss when he was there.....

Using Volnation logic, Duke is better than UT!
Duke beat Miami
Miami beat UF
UF beat UT

In before the excuses come in. THIS POST IS SARCASTIC!

No you're not. You're a dumbass.

We've sucked and sucked bad the last few years, if we where consistently winning 8-9 games in the regular season and going to decent bowl games, that would be sweat.

Right now our crowning achievement is trying to get that sixth win.
