Da Reds thread

Mr. Clutch Buck Sucker is now WAR'ing with the best of them with his big .258 average. Even Billy has a .260 average. But hey - he has 6 HR's and 12 RBI's in 36 games with that big .404 OBP and 19 runs. That works out to 1 RBI every 3 games from your supposed best hitter. Frazier has nearly lapped him with 21 and Mesoraco has more (13) having played 23 less games!

One big hit every 30+ games from Mr. Clutch. Just ask trolling Scotty if he will trade Freeman for Votto straight up. If he says yes you know he is lying.

With Bruce out Price flips Votto to clean up. I bet they go on a big win streak now - one game in a row. lol.

looking like griffey signing all over again.

Champy - that's why they are on Ignore. They are just noise from non-Reds fans. They look at the stats and don't really know how they apply. I keep begging any of them to swap Votto for their best hitter on their favorite team. For some reason none of them respond to that.

You can have all the .300/.400/.500 you want. You don't pay $20 M for it unless there is 30/100/100+ to go with it. Plus getting it done when it matters. Once every 40 games is not getting it done.

Hits a one bouncer off the fence near the corner in right and gets thrown out easily at second to run them out of great scoring opportunities tonight. Meanwhile Luddy blows it repeatedly. Blowing some really good pitching like they did last season, only worse this season.

to me at the end of the year price and jocketty both need to be let go. time for some major changes in the front office. regardless we are back to a .500 team thanks to bobby and jock. another guy that needs to be sent packing is chappy. he just isn't good.

I tend to agree. The organization is going backwards. From the farm on up to the ownership. I kept telling everybody on the Cincy boards that the window closed in 2012, that it was time to retool. They start following what others are doing and lose the edge. They simply have to get over the BRM. Those days will never happen again in Cincy due to the money that is made inside and outside of the contracts.

IMO Chappy, Homer, Votto, Phillips, and Cozart need traded. Bruce may need traded at some point unless there is a significant turn around. You keep Billy, Meso, and Frazier as first liners. You hold on to Pena and Schumaker due to what they bring you off the bench and as part time starters with great experience. You lose nothing by using Santiago the rest of the season. You just make sure the trades bring you a good SP as well as starters at first and second. if you luck into a good guy at third you can move Frazier to first or LF. Luddy, Heisey, etc. should be moved out after the season unless they are thrown in with a trade. You keep LeCure, Simon and Parra for the pen. You move the rest. You sign Cueto, Latos, and Leake to 4-5 year deals. You move Cingrani to the pen where he could be an all star. You bring Stephenson up. During this whole process you can probably come out clean with no out of pocket on the contracts with the "stars" you moved with the exception of Votto, whose deal you can enhance more with players if you need to. Regardless, even if you have to kick in some cash to move them you will be able to drop the payroll about $30 M a year and still field a .500 or better team with some upside next season. Give you a shot to go after guys like Nelson Cruz for LF who will probably get a 3-4 year deal at $17 M or so if he keeps doing what he is doing.

None of this will happen though.

couldn't agree more, but i don't think it will happen. the brain trust for the reds is in no way that smart.

Nothing like a good fire sale to ignite the win columns ablaze.

Cruz isn't leaving the AL

Lol at trading your best players... Trade Chapman, really?

look at chappy's stats as a closer. he's middle of the road. yes trade him while you can get some value out of him. i would say trade lard ass broxton to, but nobody will take him. another great jock signing.
