Dave Hart Mr. Controversy

If it's true that trainers cut off time earmarked for female athletes, to rush to male athletes aid, then that is wrong and should be corrected...80s movie bully wrong there. :). But is it remotely possible that their time ran out and the trainers moved on to the scheduled training? Changes the plot if so.

Until Hart got here the Lady Vol's didn't even have access to the Anderson training facility and the Womens athletic facilities are currently being upgraded.

The point is they did have full access to training facilities, even if they weren't as good as the men's. Now it sounds like they don't get access unless the men aren't using them. That's a step back.

No,They never had access to the Anderson training Facility until recently. You do know that they have there own athletic facilities right?

Just out of curiosity, didn't they say they did some sort of study that took place over some period of time? Has anyone seen it? Seems like if it would help the cause from the school's point of view, even if it's just PR, why not produce it? You know just looking for some facts from their side of things.

Here's the deal - it's not going to change, because Dave Hart would have to admit he was wrong, and he is incapable of doing that.

If Hart ever leaves, and the subsequent AD realizes what was lost in the change, he will bring back the logo for the women's sports. He'll be a hero to the people who care about it, thus enlarging his support base - AND, they'll sell a ton of merchandise the first couple of years.

In the meantime, I'm sitting back, watching Mr. Hart make enemies, waiting till he makes a mistake and looks around to see who has his back. I predict the crowd of people in his corner will be few.

I think you're wrong about everything. And that the majority of people care nothing about this issue.

Yeah, I knew that, but they always had access to training facilities where they could go and work out on their own schedules.

I don't know, but I would hope so. If they get booted out of a training facility anytime a men's team shows up and have no place else to go, they're not gonna stay in great shape. Are they getting to keep their original facilities, or are they being repurposed?

I suspect that this is just another bit of drama to draw attention to this trivial cause to preserve the separatist logo.

Hart will not win this one. LV's are a national brand name, built primarily by Pat, and carried on by women in other sports. It's stupid of Hart to tear that down for whatever reason.

Tennessee women

At the behest of Nike and Tennessee’s athletic department, the “Lady Vols” are being eliminated in place of the resoundingly male “Power T” for every team except women’s basketball, for commercial reasons. The exception is being made out of respect for coach emeritus Pat Summitt, who long opposed this ridiculous move because, as one of the great promoters in sports history, she understands what a mistake it is to confuse “branding” with some lame idea of sameness.

When do we get to stop tip-toeing around Pat? I'll be glad when her reign of power over that which is not her business ends. Then we can actually stop this sexist designation and separation.

When do dump the name "Neyland" from our stadium and give it something more up-to-date? I'll be glad when the General's reign of power over what is not his business ends. No one can pronounce it right anyway.

Nice comparison, except the General isn't being paid for nothing and in a position that everyone maneuvers around to avoid anything determined to possibly offend him. Im fine with the street and court name,so that makes me neutral in relation to your diatribe. I dont have any internal knowledge related to whether he influenced, or comments blaming him influenced ongoing separation of the fanbase based on sexism type discrimination.

You tried to use the General to make your point...and failed. No one is using Neyland's name to take the Lady out of the Vols...Summitt's hard work making her program has been used in this argument...quit swerving Boobs.
