LOL you are ridiculous, the officer clearly meant to tase him by her words and actions, especially after when she was in shock for her mistake...she deserves the punishment she got, but no officer that day involved said "lets pull over this car, hope it's a black guy and kill him".

You need to see a therapist and/or get your meds upped

And whether race drove any of the decision-making, it's impossible to ignore that both situations resulted in dead black men.

To the bolded, you don't know and it's disingenuous to apply racism completely absent of evidence. This situation is 100% tragic and appears to fit manslaughter and the officer should be charged with it.

In regards to the taser, it would have been justifiable, even in a car.

The similarity that they are black is irrelevant. Are you suggesting that skin tone should exempt someone from being a victim in accidents?

Minnesota business owners just made the largest sound of relief ever recorded. Judge just denied motion to acquit by defense.

It is an attempt to ground the ridiculousness of this circus. Probably in the millions of dollars being spent to crucify a white cop mostly based on the fact that he IS white, meanwhile well over a hundred and twenty black men have been killed by other black men in Chicago alone and nothing more than a shake of the head. from you or the press or the so called government. Yeah. it IS relevant because this trial is a joke.

I am only passively watching via this thread.

Does the motion for acquittal mean the prosecutors are wrapped up on their case and now the defense presents its case?

The prosecution already rested. The defense has already put on witnesses (their "use of force" expert was an abject disaster). It's a little strange to me that they made the motion for acquittal during their case rather than immediately following the State resting, but I don't guess it matters because it would have been denied either way.

Again, not a lawyer but I think once you motion for a dismissal you can no longer introduce evidence or witnesses?

Not sure if it is the same for motion to acquit.

Don't know about the former. But I know that in TN (and from every case I've ever seen, most other states) a motion for acquittal does not end the defense's case.

Should a cop who thinks the grip of a taser is the same as the grip of her issued pistol serve on a police force?

Does she routinely have her taser where her pistol usually is on her uniform?

Let’s let the facts come out.

How many cars with white were pulled over that day for identical offenses?

Nope. What I am saying is that all the BLM stuff is complete nonsense and nothing but divisive racist noise. 120 black people have died at the hands of other black people in one city alone. I don't have the statistics on black men killed by white cops, but I would bet it pales in comparison. Yet THIS... "trial" is what is going to burn the country to the ground. It's a kangaroo court. Black lives don't even matter to other black people. It's a farce and a LIE. 4 large homes by the organizer proves that fact. I pity anyone that has contributed to that sham. No... I laugh at them for being suckers.

Chauvin should be tried, but it should be on page last of the newspaper instead of continuous video coverage.

50 white people have been killed by cops. 30 black people have been killed by cops (YTD). 120 black people have been killed by other black people in Chicago alone. Yeah. racist cops are the problem and the trial of a death that has yet to be linked to racism should be broadcast 24/7 and on the forefront of the conversation.
