Derek Chauvin trial

So you think that knee to the neck caused the death and not the stress of the situation/fentanyl/meth/heart condition? That's quite a sell, particularly since he was having breathing problems long before he was on the ground

Yes I do and I dont think its quite a sell. Because:
A) I have eyes and watched the video.
B) it was cited in the autopsy

Wrong with Floyd? He should have rolled him over on his back once he passed out. Even other officers and paramedics were telling him to do that. Now, would it have mattered in possibly saving Floyd's life? Likley not, but that's up to experts in the field.

You could be right. I'm not sure what their training said but perhaps he didn't do anything wrong 'till the last 4 mins. I don't think that jumps to a murder charge of any kind and I don't think he didn't roll him over due to his race...but I'm open to new evidence as this trial has just started

Idk I'm not a doctor. But the lungs weren't filled with fluid they contained fluid. Some doctors have said it can happen as a result of CPR, which was performed at the scene.

this might provide some insight. They consulted 8 experts in the field for their thoughts

I have reasonable doubt that his knee caused the heart to stop but let's see what the evidence says. If that was the case I think we would've heard of a lot more suspects dying from this tactic since it's taught by the academy

Yes of course, if nothing else that thug coulda been helping administer medical assistance instead of killing him
What assistance could have been offered? Narcan is about the only thing I could think of that would have saved his life. I'm curious to see if the officers had any, I'm sure that will come out. The ME basically said in his report that the video is what led them to the homicide determination, all other evidence was overdose. So it appears to me the determination was made on emotion ignoring fact. I'm sure more evidence will come out, my view can change based on the facts of the case, they already have.

Yes Chavlin was disciplined multiple times for his behavior.

AND he had run in's with Floyd before, which is hopefully brought up in the trial. It may have been personal. He was not within the 1st cops on the scene anyway, he came in after and like a thug did what he did. Is it possible it was because he didn't like Floyd? hmmmm...
Hard to prove intent.

I'd say that outcome is very unlikely. The defense is going to argue that Floyd died because of drugs, not because of the defendant's knee on his neck. To render the defendant not guilty of murder you have to believe that defense, which makes it impossible to convict on the lesser charges.

I believe it will be all or nothing. And since everyone believes cops in a courtroom, the defendant will be found not guilty of everything.

Hope I'm wrong
But see hope shouldn’t factor in. Can you 100% beyond reasonable doubt say that the drugs didn’t cause Floyd’s death? All the defense needs is reasonable doubt and they have it here. It has nothing to do with cops, emotions, color, etc. Is there reasonable doubt? Yes. Not guilty.

Lots of famous folks likely got away with murder

1) Ted Kennedy
2) Robert Blake
3) Robert Wagner

Oh and you don’t have to necessarily believe that defense, you just have to believe that it’s possible. And it most certainly is possible whether you think that’s what happened or not.

What is the purpose of putting a 8 year old kid on the stand? We know he's coached and it was smart for the defense to not ask questions.
To me that’s sick putting a young kid up there. They have plenty of witnesses, not to mention video. It’s shameful to use that kid in such a manner.

That’s interesting. But what if they knew he was on heavy drugs? Then wouldn’t him being passed out on his back be dangerous?

A tense sense yesterday when a witness to the homicide took the stand. The defense attorney was, in an attempt to make the argument that the witnesses distracted police from providing medical attention, cross-questioning her.

When he asked if the people watching were getting upset and she him-hawed and then said "well have you ever seen someone get killed?" It caused some uproar and the Judge sent the jury back in its chambers after that to cool everyone down
