I'm not saying that I disagree with you-for a consenting adult.

Very easy though for someone to also later say they only consented under threat of losing their job.

It's a losing argument no matter how Tucker tries to spin it.

When you are in management, don't diddle the staff-day one of orientation and first page of the handbook.

I definitely think Mel Tucker should be fired but I have to ask the same question that *gulp* Uncle Lou brought up, why didn't she just hang up the phone if it was offensive?

Why didn't he when the conversation started to get sexy? I'm not saying she's a victim of horrible harassment here, but he had all the cards in the relationship, 90 million reasons to not go there, and a disconnect button just like her.

Why is it her fault and not his for not hanging up?

The question is: why did Mel Tucker start touching himself on the phone with a woman?

He won't be able to answer that as appropriate activity with someone connected to his work. He's done.

I just can't get over the fact that if you're going to do this you would do it to the girl who is a rape victim AND JUST TALKED to your team ABOUT SEXUAL HARRASEMENT AND SEXUAL ASSULT .....that part just blows my freaking mind!

It was still a professional relationship they had, with Mel in a position of authority/influence.

Mel violated Rule #1 of the workplace, which is don't **** where you eat. He didn't even have to admit to playing with himself while on the phone to get canned for this. Even if it was just a conversation of a sexual nature with this woman, he could be fired for cause for that.

I agree that he is done and I agree he was stupid for getting involved with anyone associated with the University but IF his account is accurate it was not sexual harassment.

It doesn't really matter what you call it. He can be terminated for cause for it, and Mich St is almost certainly going to do so because of that contract. You could be terminated immediately for doing this exact same thing in any job, and you probably would if your employer already didn't really care for you.

If he's still putting up 11-2 seasons, this either never sees the light of day or the University goes to bat for him.

Which raises a very interesting question. He was absolutely bone headed about this, but if his depiction of the events are true, she very much an instigator in this and a lot of the evidence falls in line with his side of the story(27 phone calls, the length of time she was on the phone, not filing a complaint for 8 months when here next appearance had been cancelled, gifts)....lets say for arguments sake that she led him on and set this up. What are the chances that Michigan st played a hand in this in order to get out of this ridiculous 95 mil contract after his 5-7 season last year?
