I’m not saying he’s not an idiot. I just don’t have sympathy for a consenting adult.
Why didn't he when the conversation started to get sexy? I'm not saying she's a victim of horrible harassment here, but he had all the cards in the relationship, 90 million reasons to not go there, and a disconnect button just like her.I definitely think Mel Tucker should be fired but I have to ask the same question that *gulp* Uncle Lou brought up, why didn't she just hang up the phone if it was offensive?
He wasn't going to hang up. He was getting those phone sex calls for free. What an IDIOT! Maybe Urban Meyer can come in and get the program right. Why is it her fault and not his for not hanging up?

That's odd. I heard Saban wanted to go back.Ugh, don't start with the Urban Meyer rumors.
Everyone knows that Gruden was seen yesterday in East Lansing looking at properties.
He admitted to jerking off on the phone with a third party contractor who he had influence over. It's harassment even if she wanted it. He's toast. For cause. Good riddance.
Sorry man, it's not 1970. The days of attorneys asking rape, sexual assault, domestic assault, etc victims.... "Why didn't you fight back or just leave?" are over.At best it's borderline harassment, very borderline. If his account of the call being 30+ minutes is accurate she could have hung up at any time.
It was still a professional relationship they had, with Mel in a position of authority/influence.She's a contractor with a 2 gig contract not an employee.

The question is: why did Mel Tucker start touching himself on the phone with a woman?
He won't be able to answer that as appropriate activity with someone connected to his work. He's done.

Mel violated Rule #1 of the workplace, which is don't **** where you eat. He didn't even have to admit to playing with himself while on the phone to get canned for this. Even if it was just a conversation of a sexual nature with this woman, he could be fired for cause for that.
It doesn't really matter what you call it. He can be terminated for cause for it, and Mich St is almost certainly going to do so because of that contract. You could be terminated immediately for doing this exact same thing in any job, and you probably would if your employer already didn't really care for you.I agree that he is done and I agree he was stupid for getting involved with anyone associated with the University but IF his account is accurate it was not sexual harassment.

If he's still putting up 11-2 seasons, this either never sees the light of day or the University goes to bat for him.

Legal sexual harassment? I'm not an attorney.
Inappropriate behavior for a person in authority? Yeah.
Definitions don't matter when you just jerked $90M dollars away from yourself.
Which raises a very interesting question. He was absolutely bone headed about this, but if his depiction of the events are true, she very much an instigator in this and a lot of the evidence falls in line with his side of the story(27 phone calls, the length of time she was on the phone, not filing a complaint for 8 months when here next appearance had been cancelled, gifts)....lets say for arguments sake that she led him on and set this up. What are the chances that Michigan st played a hand in this in order to get out of this ridiculous 95 mil contract after his 5-7 season last year?100% if he was winning this would be a non story or at least the University would be backing him.
