On one level you're right: it's called pearls before swine. On another level you're completely wrong because it took about 15 minutes to look that up.

The point is that it's not that hard for a good running back to put up big numbers in a crappy conference when 7 of his opponents AVERAGE giving up at least 177 yards. It used to be impossible to be considered for the Heisman with those credentials. Consider, for example Colt Brennan for Hawaii in 2006. 5549 yards and 58 touchdowns. In the WAC, but his numbers were the same against Alabama, Purdue, Arizona State and Oregon State (so that year his credentials were better than Jeanty's). 6th in the Heisman voting.

Let Jeanty try it in the best conference.

Oh, and add Vandy 123 per game and 2 200 yard games to our schedule.

Maybe they'll start factoring in sec superiority complex, who knows? Some
People think that every team and player outside of the sec is somehow inferior. It’s actually pretty sad. I won’t argue that Sampson shouldn’t have probably been invited over the other two but it’s clear that Jeanty has it locked up. Who cares who he played? To think every D1 school outside of the sec is talentless is absurd.

That would be absurd. But it's a straw man argument, since no one in this thread has said anything remotely like that. Boise State talentless? Nope. Boise State less talented than, at the very least, six SEC teams? Absolutely.

And as for "who cares who he played?" That was the very point of my last post. In every previous year it HAS mattered.

One last thing, though, and I'm out of this thread. This is a discussion forum. I like discussion. One person makes a point, the other responds to the point, the first responds to the response. Apparently, you don't like discussion. I used some data to make a point, you're whole response wss "waste of time". I elaborated, hoping you'd engage in an actual discussion, and instead you fell back to your "SEC superiority complex" diatribe.

Your entire “discussion” is based on undermining everything outside of the sec. Samson is a good back that probably deserved an invite. Jeanty has just been better. He has better numbers and has meant more to his team. No way Boise is where they are without him.

There's a simpler way to try and put some context to the discussion. Here's the list of players with more rushing yards than Jeanty through 12 games.

Barry Sanders
Marcus Allen

That's it...that's the list. Regardless of conference/strength of schedule/whatever. There's no unhappening that hard fact with speculative applications of the transitive property.

Also bear in mind that in those games he's got G5 blocking too. In 3 games against P5 teams he's managed 226y and 3td per game.

Look, for reasons you posit I think Sampson should have been a finalist. Jeanty literally had an all time regular season at the RB position.

Pac-2: 31

The competition is better in the major conferences than it is in Mountain West. If stating that fact is undermining then so be it.

SEC and Big Ten have more than all the other conferences and Independents combined. It’s not a superiority complex, it’s a fact. I guess the NFL is in on all of it too 🤣

Oregon State lost their head coach and they were ravaged by the portal because of the Pac12 imploding. You’re not about to play me for a fool on this one. They are just another Mountain West team.

It is relevant because the whole discussion is about who you have played and the FACT is the best talent is in the SEC, followed by the Big Ten. And then it’s a very steep drop to the ACC.

Lol no it’s not. These individual awards don’t care about sos, only you and few homers who can’t see the forest for the trees. If it were the case there’s plenty of other awards you could cry about.
