Dooley sucks (merged)

We are going to give him a chance , thats for sure . A lot of you guys think if we don't like the hire then we aren't Vol fans . If anyone on here thinks Dooley was the best coach we could find , you need a shrink . We are Tennessee . We are not Kentucky . This guy got hired after several coaches turned us down . He was not the first option in a poor selection to begin with . I will support him and I will always be a Vol but we have the resources to go get ANY coach in America and we got DD.
Oh really, any coach in America huh? Guess that explains why we were turned down by Muschamp, Calhoun, Whittingham, Cutcliff and possibly others I may have left out. BTW, you do realize our first choice Muschamp is the very guy who recommended Dooley right? I doubt you do honestly, which makes your opinion meaningless as far as I'm concerned. Have a good day.

I couldn't get on due to work circumstances for most of the day today

but 17-20 is his record, and Hambone is hiring him at UT

what a letdown

I love the Vols, and I'm sick to my stomach right now

Better then Kittins!!!!! You must if really been bent over when we hired that loser 5-15 record and had just been fired and embarrassed by Weird Al on National TV!!!

Well Said....

I've been thinking about this for the last hour or so, and maybe i need to give CDD a chance before i get crazy, but coaching in the NFL is harder than college, 5-15 is below medicore, 17-20 in Div I is respectable, because I think that was CDD's first gig, and LA Tech hasnt been very good since 2003 when they had Luke McCown and beat Michigan State......... so Welcome CDD with open arms, because a lot of us, myself included welcomed K****n with open arms.

Dooley is our coach and the OP should be banned and this thread deleted.

He said that they would be pulling for UT. (Link in another thread.)

I'm afraid you read it wrong. Vince Dooley would NEVER root against UGA, any more than Phil Fulmer would root against UT. Here's the quote from coach:

On whether he will ever willingly wear orange: “There’s no hesitation about my wife wearing orange. I might subtly and very conservatively wear something orange on the proper occasion.”

Season ticket holder for 23 years here, wouldn't give em up for nothing, you keep slamming though, you must be one bad dude.

you made a smarky remark first can't take a smack back, you show how sniveling you are, the ticket remark was sarcasm, anyway, I will hand CDD my support provided he doesent pull a john L Smith and implode

And you left out another quote:

The elder Dooley says he'll have mixed emotions but will quietly pull for his son when Tennessee plays at Georgia on Oct. 9.

You guys need to give your new boy a chance.... afterall... you could have ended up with houston nutt!

.... and Peyton Manning is thumping the ravens right now.....

"It will be strange," said the elder Dooley, who said he's glad he'll be able to watch the Tennessee-Georgia game from his private box at Sanford Stadium.

"No question my wife will be vocal. While I have mixed emotions, inside it will be hard to go against my family. I was with my family before I was with Georgia. But I can assure you it will be a quiet pulling for my son in Sanford Stadium."

A big welcome to our new coach. Good luck. They will always be poster like you see on other boards. Best to ignore the.

Lame Kittin left you guys in a very difficult spot leaving like he did. While taking your time and going after a great coach would be the ideal thing to do, it's not the practical thing with 3 weeks until signing day, and Ogre stealing your recruits before he left campus.

It's true that DD isn't a proven coach. He's young, but he's fielded competitive teams at a very tough to recruit school in podunk Louisiana. He learned under CNS, and he seems to embrace the Saban values as far as what it takes to be a winner. I know a lot of y'all hate Saban, but the man can get players to play up, taking several 2 and 3 star and walkons at Bama and making them into NFL talents with his coaching approach. Rashad Johnson was a walkon that's now playing on Sundays.

Dooley is the guy that Hamilton landed, and if you give him a chance, good times may very well be closer than you think.

Just an opinion from a "bammer" that wishes the UT/UA rivalry could become friendly again. Good Luck!

I'm giving him a chance, and will attend as many games as possible next season.

The Ravens shot themselves in the foot several times tonight, but glad to see the Colts play well and win.

Hopefully we'll see you guys in the SEC Championship game! :crossfingers:
