Dooley sucks (merged)

U give him a chance, I guess I have no choice, but are you cerebral enough to handle this...I am just pointing out the obvious, should I keep my mouth shut if I see a land mind and say nothing...? really...?

well bay...lets just wait and see where we fall on signing day...i bet you wont be on here...

I agree we need to pull of a top 10-15 recruiting class, but lets be fair to Dooley on this matter,he has very little time to go into these kids homes with just a few days left and win the parents over.I mean if he had 2-3 months that would be a different story, and even that is short notice considering recruiting players is a year around job.

I'm not trying to be argumentative either, but we have had the screws put to us as far as timing goes.

I agree, but all the crap I have been spewin I have been referring to next year, this year and class is a train wreck and he has to come in and do damage control. but I am sayin next season like it or not...thru a recruits EYES will define him...

Well since I am LSU fan and TECH fan I suspect I will not be on VOL nation everyday. I am here just to give a viewpoint

I think a lot of people are not working with a lot of info here. Was this past season a disappointment for TECH. Well yes. But it was also the most snakebit injury hit team I can recall in memory.

Tech this year would seem to lose a lot of games in the fourth quarter. Mainly because of injuries I believe. They would run out of gas

However it was something to see them never give up and seeing players playing with incredible pain playing close and good with teams like LSU and Boise State and FRESNO and Idaho when looking how they were hurt had no buisness playing close.

That was Coaching and that was players beleving.

Again alot of these discussion are mute because well its Jan. But I think TENN fans are going to be very pleased the next few years

Will results be immediate. I expect not Tenn does have problems. THese are problems that Kiffin was suppose to fix but he made them worse.

What are those problems? Well a lot has to do with lets say the bad tradition. Dooley no doubt respects and knows TENN tradition. But he has little patience for the tradition of "WELL THATS IS HOW WE HAVE ALWAYS DONE IT HERE" if it gets in the way of the progress. Those little traditions that sneak in are the problem.

I can tell you at TECH he waged constant battle on that and the people telling him "That is not how we do things here" That takes time to remove. It is that stuff hidden in the front office that are sometimes the real problem

Give him time. LSU is the only school in the State that does not have to begging to the State for funds. Dooley had to operate with a limited budget and dealing with two other schools in the University of Louisiana system that are wary of anything TECH was doing. That was trying to be the other school besides LSU. It is a budget and political minefield.

Give him the resources and I think you will like the results

Thanks for your perspective.:hi:

I can only pray for a great outcome...But Bey...we are here in Tenn. and if he don’t toe the mark we will all throw him to the sharks

On a good note, I had a friend (female) on FB sayin she had a bird that flew into her house and she did not know how to get rid of "HIM" She kept on referring to the bird as HIM...lots of friends gave her advice as to bird riddance...but to no avail...I read this and said...
"The bird must be a female...cause no self respecting MALE bird would ever give up the chance to freedom...."

I think the worst part about this thread is that some idiot thinks a 17 and 20 record at a school that is so overmatched by its opposition means he is not a good coach. Have you not looked at what this school did before he got there or even the scores of the games he lost against much better teams!? Seriously get a f_ing clue

As a former player...thats quite ok...seein that there was a helmet....and let me guess...a facemask...I saw the vid. and the player was gettin jacked...but no abuse here.... and if he has a temper then bring it...give em a standard to hold up to... hell yea...

As for his record -- except for this. He was 12-12 in conference play, despite having, by far, the 3rd most talent in the conference. Here's his record, according to Rivals talent differentials:

vs. more talented
2009: 0-3 - 0-2
2008: 1-1 - 1-1
2007: 0-3 - 0-3
overall: 1-7 - 1-5

vs. less talented
2009: 1-0 - 3-3
2008: 2-1 - 4-2
2007: 1-0 - 4-1
overall: 4-1 - 11-7

Not impressive, period. Nor is it impressive in light of La Tech history:

Joe Raymond Peace 1988-95 .472
Gary Crowton 1996-98 .618
Jack Bicknell III 1999-2006 .453
Derek Dooley 2007-2010 .444

FYI: .444 is last of the 4.
