Dooley is the guy who wanted Tennessee and in case ya"ll forgot alot of coaches didn't. Cutcliffe wouldn't even leave Duke to come back to Tennessee. So if Dooley wants Tennessee and the pressure us fans put on him, then we should atleast give him the support he needs to turn this thing around. He did a grat job last year in a short time salvaging a recruiting class and he is also doing ok this year. With two more recruiting classes under his belt and all the freshmen we have now become juniors, I really think that Tennessee will be back to a top 15 program or better. All I am saying is that Dooley was willing to come here when Tennessee is down and alot of coaches said no thanks. It shows me he believes in the program and he is willing to put alot of time and effort to change it for the better. So let's put a little faith and patience in the guy who wanted Tennessee.
of course Dooly wanted Tennessee
He went from making 400k to 2 million...
You and hatvol should share a bed.
At least he had the sack to back up his words with a wager about the Vols -vs- UF, UGA, and Bama.
And though it looks, right now, like my time on VN is limited...I have no problem with confronting those "Vol fans"...such as yourself...who seem to take delight in pointing out "all that is wrong with UT Football".
We're not blind, V_I_I, we see the same things you see. We're not (well, I'm not) all that impressed with Mike Hamilton. Truth is, he should have let Fulmer go at least three years before he did; he should have kept a closer eye on both the men's basketball and baseball programs; and he should have recognized Lane Kiffin for the mercenary he is.
Hindsight is 20/20, right?
But here you come, as always, lording it over those of us who are too ignorant to put on shower shoes without injuring ourselves...talking about how Dooley was a bad hire...we should have written the big check for the big name coach...etc, etc.
Tell me...since you're so wise...how did you get overlooked for the job?
Derek Dooley will make a fool out of you, in time. Not that you need any help.
I just hope he does it in the next two years, so that I'm here to bust your butt about it.
Go Vols.
so he hired a average coach who looks to be worse than fulmer was. outstanding

maybe you can explain how he is supposedly worse than fulmer. the guy has coached 4 games here. give the guy a couple of years before you judge him. i think most reasonable fans understood that you might as well throw this year out the window.
You know when Spurrier went to USCe, they were in contention with Vandy to see who could lose the most games in the SEC...However, USCe and THEIR FANS gave the man a chance, and now they look like they might just be playing Bama in December...just saying, give the man a chance...we were ALL willing to do it for the coach who shall not be named here anymore!!!
Spurrier had no college head coaching experience when he took the job at Duke.are you really comparing Dooley to Spurrier
Spurrier went 122-27-1 at Florida and won a NC
That's the issue with Hambone, even the game cocks was able to get a proven coach...
