Dooley sucks (merged)

Why do the sheep have so much optimism with this time-tested losing machine we call Derek Dooley?

He's always been a loser and continues to be such...

What data is there to point to that says 'just give him time'?

I mean I didn't expect to go to the BCS in year 1 or 2, but I don't think a winning record at least one, if not both seasons was too much to expect.

0-24 when tied or trailing at the half...What makes you think he can rally his team to beat Bama or LSU at the half down the line in his career when he can't lead a rally past UK with a WR playing QB running the same play the entire game?

The only reason this Karmic Disaster Derek Dooley even has a punchers chance next season is the fact he has the best QB we've had since Peyton...And just like Peyton, Bray could/prob will go #1 in the NFL draft....However, last Saturday's catastrophe makes me think even with a full compliment of upper classmen starters and more quality skill guys on Offense than we've had since fill in the blank Dooley still won't get it done next year.

Why would he? History shows he never has....

Besides the fact this guy is a proven loser at multiple coaching stops, lets look at the karmic disaster this idiot has proven to be....

Year 1: two most improbable losses within the same season I've ever seen...leading to a NCAA rule change and a losing season.

Year 2: Losing the best QB-WR combo we've had in a long while @ UT within a matter of weeks....

However, only a guy like Dooley could upstage his own early season bad luck with what he accomplished last Saturday in Lexington.... a WR who hadn't played QB in 4 years since high school beats us by running one play the entire game.

Whats Dooley got up his sleeve for year 3, Peyton standing on Alabama's sideline wearing a Crimson shirt?

I mean if you were hiring a limo driver, would you hire a driver who was known for always having the worst luck and getting into horrible traffic accidents...Even if the majority of the accidents wasn't the drivers fault would you want to always have him driving you around?

Derek Dooley is our limo driver and he has a bad habit of having the worst events possible occur to him when he's behind the wheel...

Why would you want this kind of guy to lead our VOLS, he has never won anywhere and has worse luck than any coach I've ever seen...Get this mf'er as far away from our program as possible.

I believe it was Napoleon who said, "Bring me the lucky generals".

This = truth. Well spoken :hi:

I think the word "idiot" gets thrown around much too often. These are his academic and athletic credentials:

Dooley was a walk-on wide receiver at the University of Virginia. He earned a scholarship with the Cavaliers following his second season and helped the school to three bowl appearances, including an ACC championship in 1989. In 1990, he was named first-team Academic All-ACC and participated in the Senior Bowl. He graduated in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in government and foreign affairs, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Georgia in 1994.[5] Dooley practiced law at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Atlanta for almost two years before embarking on his coaching career.

I guess my point or question is, what are your credentials that allow you to call him an "idiot"? Please supply them and let the board judge if you are qualified. If you are, you get a free pass. Please supply your "luck" credentials as well.

i don't think dooley is an idiot i just think his game plan and motivational skills suck. hes had 2 years and he hasn't figured out how to get this team motivated to do anything except a post game vandy celebration, i mean come on, just because you are a good player or a lawyer doesn't mean you are a good coach. his crap coaching record reflects that in black and white..no arguing that, just excuses for it is all i hear.

Tell me how he's a good coach?

I'm sure you can't...

Please, I'm waiting sheep.

It's too early to tell one way or the other yet. It's just as moronic for someone to say he is the answer to UT fans prayers as is it for you to say that he is a failure just two years into this rebuilding project at his first major job.

He's got one less win at this point in his tenure as Saban did. Doesn't mean he will be like Saban but shows that it is hard to judge this early in his career.

Was Cleveland right or wrong to fire Bill Belicheck 15 years ago?

No it's because he's a horrible coach and historically and currently a loser...Coupled with these undisputed facts, he is also the most unlucky coach I've ever seen.

Tell me why you think Dooley will get it done?

Take the blinders off...do you only include his HC results? I can tell you Saben vouches for the guy and that means something to me...not just Saben's coach speak either...kept him around for as long as he could (7 years).

FWIW, nobody's winning at La Tech...of couse they only lost 4 games this year with his experienced recruits. Next two years will give us fidelity...other than that, it's all speculation.

Why don't you ask a relevant question rather than this non-sensical and potentially damaging question?

It simply does not matter at this point if you are right or if Saban and others are right. The ONLY THING THAT MATTERS is what is good for the program.

The article by Mr SEC was pretty much dead on. Dooley definitely made mistakes. He definitely has an uphill climb. But simply put... it would be abjectly STUPID for UT to change coaches right now.

Let him bring in another solid class of talent. Let him have another season to prove he can or cannot turn the corner... You might as well. For all your complaining and condemnation... he is all but certain to be back next fall. There's a very good chance he'll get the 4th year too.

The only thing your "insightful, profound" posts can do... is hurt the program. You aren't going to hurt Dooley except to the extent you hurt the program... and how does that help the next guy?

IF you are fully convinced you are right... then why not pretend to be EXTREMELY positive about Dooley and the direction of the program? If you are right... Dooley's fate is sealed anyway because he can't coach. HOWEVER, you will have done your part to assure that he leaves a great talent base for the next guy to win with.

ok so say we pretend dooley is a good coach and he somehow manages to have a winning record next year..like 6 wins and a bowl game, so everybody says "give him a few more years" and then we continue to have a couple of more 6 win seasons with dooley...is that what you want from ut football? do you want a nice guy with a .500 win percentage? or do you want a coach that has the possibility to win every game but doesn't give a damn about anything but winning? right now we got a mammas boy that cant win a game and im just ready for him to hit the road...ive seen enough already and i dont really care who replaces him at this point. hes already done all the damage he can as far as what ive seen.

Yea, I never said he was a good coach. The jury's still out on that. But I don't believe an "idiot" could attain the academic credentials that he has.

As I recall Napoleon wasn't exactly the luckiest guy either, or the smartest. I mean... who's stupid enough to attack the Russians in winter?

Why are you so loyal to a TERRIBLE COACH???

Back to back losing seasons and you still defend him...

But losing seasons are what he has done throughout his career, so he's at least consistent.

However at UT we haven't had back to back losing seasons since 1910.

Do you think he's a good coach and if so, why? Please back up with facts.

Negavol, Fulmerite, and racist, imo. GBO

bwahhhhhahahahahahaha

Here's some needed perspective:

They drilled Ole Miss
They lost to Miss St in overtime
They lost to Southern Miss by 2
They lost to Houston by 1
Got drilled by Hawaii
Won their last 7

Just some data to consider when evaluating Dooley's ability to recruit/coach...we're talking about bringing football players to La Tech for goodness sake. You can choose to ignore, but I think it's relevant.

We gots dawgs and cocks that's bigger Vol fans than some of these whiners up in hereuh.

any psuedo sexual reason you continually refer to 'sheep'?

Nah, I live in downtown Chicago and work in the Wallstreet world... In our terms, to quote the great Michael Douglass in the original Wallstreet:

"You know why fund managers can't beat the S&P 500? Because they're sheep, and sheep get slaughtered"

Hope that clears it up...

And you brought up a sexually oriented response when addressing the word 'sheep'..

Is that a natural instinct of yours to think of sexual behavior with farm animals when they are referenced?

Because historical data suggests you immediately referenced sexual intercourse when first addressing the term sheep....Just as historical evidence shows Derek Dooley is a time tested loser.
