Dooley sucks (merged)

Hey, if anyone had the forsight to see where UT would be today, they would have kept Fulmer. But you know what? They didn't. Get over it, move on. This is the hand that is dealt. The crap hole UT is in now, doesn't negate the crap hole Fulmer had let the program fall in to.

Saban is an enigma too me. I don't see it. I was never that impressed with his earlier LSU teams. In fact I'll never forget Sanders burning his DBs. (Saban's forte) Then you had, oddly, Chavis, who couldn't figure out how to stop a back up QB from running QB draws in the SEC champ game. And suddenly it was as if Saban's persona was sprinkled with fairy dust. He absolutely sucked it up in the NFL, comes back and suddenly he can wave his wand and get any recruit he wants. I'm just amazed that kids buy his schtict. Particularly with his reputation of running off kids who don't live up to the star rankings.

I think Fulmer would have been able to rebound from that 5-7 season but yea i was definitely ready for Fulmer to go. But hey shoulda woulda coulda.

Id take what he's had at LSU and Bama and be content.

He proved he could advance it and bring back down below what he started with. Id agree with that.

And like i said before, I'll be the first to say that he messed up at the end of his career. Hell i was in the front row of the get Fulmer out club. That was never the point i was making.

Thats fine. Just commenting on the PF/relevance line.

Fulmer started this era of mediocrity and it will continue until our Sunbelt Conference is removed next year. UT made a decision not to be competitive in the SEC in December 2005 when the rest of this conference decided to make upgrades in their coaching staffs.

Hopefully we can turn that around. I honestly don't see that happening with the current coaching staff but i hope i am wrong.

I wish people would stop comparing CDD to Saban at Michigan State. By that comparison, he will leave us and win NC's somewhere else.

As for Dooley, no one really knows yet, but we have him so we can get behind it and hope for the best. I think it's good there is a little pressure on the line coming in to Spring Practice this year, probably gonna get some good work done.

If he doesn't work out, at least we fixed the depth issue.

So was there any reason that we couldn't lure Coach Cutcliffe away from Duke. We need someone who has a vested interest in OUR program. Dooley is a bulldog, and his daddy is a bulldog. as crazy as it sounds, I won't lie the thought of intentional sabotage has crossed my mind. I mean how could a Dooley really be this bad.

Intentional Sabotage is incredible stupid. Welcome to Volnation.

Now dag nabbit PJ, there you go again bringing facts into the conversation. :hi:

Cutcliffe's coaching career began as a student assistant to Bear Bryant at the University of Alabama. In 1976 he took a job at Banks High School where he served as an assistant and later as the head coach. In 1982, he was hired as a part time coach at the University of Tennessee.

Yes. Because Vince Dooley played at Auburn but became a coaching legend at UGA and won an NC there. Ironic the Pat Dye played at UGA and became a legend at Auburn.

Derek played football at Virginia...didn't want to go to Georgia!

Dooley is here one more year and then out. I don't care if he wins 8 games, he should still be done. This coaching staff is a joke. Baggett is the only coach to leave...seriously!? After a pathetic season.

He will never lead us to an SEC Championship. Anyone who thinks he will is kidding themselves.

Sad times at UT.

What if we win 9 games? Is the coaching staff still a joke? Bagget the only coach to leave? Yes he retired. You sound as if you want them all to leave. FYI, Coach Dooley may or may not be done with coaching changes. CCB left because he retired. End of story. I honestly cannot think of any other coaches that should leave or be fired. Perhaps you can enlighten us as to whom should be fired - and exactly why? In detail please.

Yes give him a chance, after a couple of more seasons we will be accustomed to the kind of ars stompings that we received under his tenure this season. Then it won't burn so badly because we no longer expect a good football team. I can't see any positive coming out of this for UT and their fans. "just wait till next year". The now too familiar cries of a long dead legendary pogram. Now incapable of being ressurected

Maybe you can resurrect your spelling. :birgits_giggle:

Seriously...how would you suggest we pay for a new coach after we fire him and still have so many on the payroll at Tennessee from past fires?

Even if we could why not wait one more season and see what a 3rd (final oppurtunity) year could do. He will have his recruiting classes and what should be a pretty decent team not to mention a much more complimentary schedule. Just see if he has what it takes next year...at least then we will be on year closer to paying all the other contracts we still owe on.

Harvey Updyke Jr. is that you. Just curious what kind of shennanigans you are going to get into this time your crazy Bammer.
