Opinions are like A-holes and mine prolly doesn't smell any better than the next guy's, but I'm gonna throw mine out anyway. I don't know what everyone looks for in college football, but I look for my home town school's players representing my university competitively and with class. I have no delusions that "my boys" are gonna win every single game until I turn into worm dirt. I just want to see them knock some mofos out and have the other team sorry they had to play us , yet appreciate that they had the opportunity to be on the same field . Was Lane Kiffin a bad hire? No. He had what it took to turn a bunch of demoralized and lost kids into a fired up squad wanting to play. He just turned out to be a punk and that's that. Is Doolittle a bad hire? Nothing makes me feel like he is a bad hire so far. He's definitely less arrogant. That can't be denied. It's a fact that he's been face to face with a TON of big time talent, so it's not like recruiting is gonna be an intimidation for him. Logic tells me that finding "good" players at the 1-2 star level are a lot harder to weed out than when you have your pick of the nations best. I don't actually think he is gonna be able to talk the Kyle Praters and Bryce Browns of the world into coming to UT just yet. We may have a couple down years in recruiting, but I think if he is really as down to earth and honest as he seems, they will start to buy in. The hot shot players wanna go where they are fairly certain they will be winning a lot . Tennessee looks like a project right now more than a winning program. Give it time. Let this guy work toward the greater goal and back off for a bit. If he gets two back to back top 5 classes and still loses a lot, then yeh he sucks and needs to go. But he could just as easily be the diamond in the rough we were looking for. There is a reason we have him and not Kippy. That would have been the easy hire.
