Emoluments

The investigation is about something very serious.
What investigation? You call what is going on now an investigation? How impartial and objective would you call it? It's political theater. If you wanted a real investigation you would do it the right way. Why all the cloak, secrecy, exclusion and leaks? Explain that one to me to where it makes any sense at all.

This "investigation" is just a way to try and manipulate public opinion, you know it, I know it, we all know it. But don't dignify what is going on by referring to it as an "investigation" because it's not. It's propaganda.

They’re deciding whether or not to bring charges. They’ll get to it. Trump will have his trial (and survive). But the democrats are perfectly justified in investigating him.

Right we can just assume the others don’t do it . 🙈
No, but I’d like some sort of evidence if you’re going to make the claim. We have reason to believe Trump acted inappropriately and abused his power. Your “defense” is nothing more than, “maybe others did it, too!”

I’m not defending at all . I look at it this way , Trump isn’t a politician , he doesn’t know how to do things like they do , he doesn’t hide things like they do , he’s not smart enough to do things and shut the hell up about them so logic dictates he’s not doing anything others haven’t done and because he’s the way he is , it gives us a window into the behind the scenes/ closed door political crap that goes on .

They aren't investigating him. They are trying to change public opinion by manipulating the process and falsely describing it as an "investigation". They are looking for parts to fit their already reached conclusion and will discard, disregard and ignore anything that they find that could refute that conclusion. It has more in common with a kangeroo court than a fair and unbiased investigation charged with gathering facts whatever they may be and whomever they may favor.

Imagine thinking this constitutes a defense.

Yeah, they really make Trump look bad by quoting the things he, his lawyer, and his chief of staff in public.

That's why they have elections. Otherwise, make stuff up, throw it a the wall and see if it sticks, is a crappy way to govern. Removal from office is a real serious action and should be for real serious stuff. You may think it has happened because that is what you want. But it hasn't and that's what is making you crazy.
It's not overly complicated.
What drives me crazy is living in a time and place where Trump was nominated, elected, and continues to receive support.

Elections can change that. Or not. Is that option really what makes you so desperate?

Again not a defense . Im just too old and to well read in American history to trust any of our politicians , congressmen , or any of our secret squirrel agencies to allow myself to think this doesn’t or hasn’t happened before .

You and others have done nothing but whine for 3 years. We saw it on election night and see it every day.
You have been living in a bubble as we have been divisive for a long time. It is not new to Trump.

You don't like it, then go win an election.
Please dont encourage them to do that. Not sure I could take it

It's not that complicated. You want him removed before an election because you fear the possibility of reelection.
I want him removed before the election because that would mean we live in a country that removed Trump from office instead of a country that left him in office.

I would prefer to live in a country that would never nominate a trump. Lost that one
I would prefer to live in a country that would never elect a trump nomination. Lost that one
I would prefer to live in a country that would never re-nominate a trump. Lost that one
I would prefer to live in a country that forced a trump out of office by any legal means available. Waiting
I would prefer to live in a country that would never reelect a trump. Hopefully we will never find out

You aren’t going to force him out , the last one is your only hope . I would add that if the last one happens ... the whole it’s the Rs fault ideology thingy you got going is done for .

Trump's Doral resort to host next G-7 summit, as White House defends choice

It's over Trumpsters. He's done it this time. Your orange god will die in prison. Libs might act like they want to shred the Constituion, which they probably do, but not the sacred emoluments clause. Thankfully the Democrat party is the last vestige of honor and integrity we have left in this country and would never tolerate a politician who gains financially from his/her/their/its/xi/zir/ze office. Impeach!
I'm not sure why this post was so sarcastic and smarmy. Donald Trump is very clearly violating "The Title of Nobility Clause" or "The Emoluments Clause" as you have referred to it here, which is a provision in Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the United States Constitution, that prohibits the federal government from granting titles of nobility, and restricts members of the government from receiving gifts, emoluments, offices or titles from foreign states and monarchies without the consent of the United States Congress. With an "emolument" defined as being a salary, fee, or profit from employment or office, the Trump Organization would obviously stand to profit from and to advance the interests of their business from this summit which Trump has planned for their highest profile venue. Although the clause is subject to it's own interpretation, there is no argument that it's design was to shield federal officeholders of the United States against so-called "corrupting foreign influences". Trump simply can't go through with this, and then pretend that he saw anything corrupt with what Hunter Biden was doing in the Ukraine. It's inconsistent as hell... and yet, I'm sure that we will see "golfballs" posting about the Bidens as well. Consistency means nothing to conservatives.
