ESPN now making fun of us

It's almost as funny as throwing gatorade on Cheney after beating that stout Kentucky team to finish 5-7....surprised they haven't been showing that replay. They probably can't pay enough for Jefferson Pilot footage..

Can we all agree to make our best efforts to spell IHC/OC Chaney's name correctly, especially since we, at long last, have a football coach with not only a winning, but undefeated, untied record.

I noticed this year that every highlight of an SEC team came at UT's expense. I was less mad at ESPN then I was at Hamilton for destroying the program.

Our defense gave many SEC teams a highlight reel from which to choose. How could ESPN not pick 75+yard TDs to show? I do not fault ESPN for showing those plays either.

Well it goes with the territory, our defense sure does make the Highlight Replays....it's funny really...It's up to UT to correct the problem..not ESPN
Go Vols

In reality, we...UT needs to be made fun of because it is funny....we have become the laughing stock of College Football....it is what it is....funny...it's up to the university to change the program....if I didn't laugh, I'm afraid I'd be in a tantrum...sadly that's what we have become for the last 7-8 years. I truly hope we can become a proud program once again, but not holding my breath....well maybe an announcement of Gruden will help hasten our progress back to relevence....who knows

I don't find it funny anymore. Pathetic and embarrassing is more the word that comes to mind.

First it was Chris Fowler and the mule comment. Then, over the years, they have made it major headlines out of something minor such as the "cheating scandle", blasted TN and kept the news popping about Fulmer and the Alabama saga-really played up that win in 05 and every team they feature that has played us they ALWAYS show that teams highlights against us. Now, this morning they were actually chuckling when talking about Gruden and the Tennessee fan base constantly talking his name and basically said Gruden coming here is a pipe dream!

Hamilton SUCKS. One thing that did get me about espn though is that watch espn app. Everytime they show that is when the gators put the nail in the coffin on us this year.

It is a pipe dream, and we look like idiots the more we talk about Gruden. At first I thought it was just some fun banter, but now I think people really believe it and we're looking ridiculous in the national media and will seem "disappointed" with a great coach like Fisher, Mora Jr., etc.

Maybe they play highlights against the Vols because there are so many highlights of other teams sticking it to the Vols?

This^^^^This again^^^ Maybe if the vols didn't get run straight over for the last 3 years ESPN would not air us getting run over. They have shown plenty of our good offensive plays this season. But with the D giving up 37-55 points to teams that don't average that a game it is easy for them to pick on us. We play in the most premiere conference in the NCAA, but we play like a 500 ACC team. There is not much respect to be given in that position.

It is comical to really believe that Gruden is going to coach at a collegiate level. I hope most fans are not the unrealistic clowns that post on this site so they are not crushed when Tennessee is lucky enough to get someone like Al Golden.
Low post number + critical comments about the coaching search = TROLL. Ban hammer, let thine power be bestowed upon him. :)

I thought it was a trailer trash comment.
How dare espn take Gruden's name in vain (unless he turns us down).

It was trailer trash. I was just thinking about the call in show where someone said we ought to use him like a borrowed mule.:hi:

A lack of competition has allowed ESPN to become complacent and lazy. When your competition comes from the likes of Mark May and Lou Holtz, then a$$hats like Fowler and Corso are tolerated. We seriously need another 24 hour sports network.

Fowler still sore because his mother stayed with one them trailer park trash bums, get the reamin of a lifetime.

I'm pretty sure the reason there are a lot of UT vs "X" highlights on espn is because our colors show up really well so its easy to see even when there is just a quick glimpse.

Gruden seems like a long shot to me. Why would he leave an easy no pressure job at espn for a very high pressure job at TN? i don't think he is hurting for money. Someone like Patterson, Mullen, Golden or Strong seem more likely.
I would love to get Jimbo Fisher though.
