That race was better than last year's. This season will be just fine.

yeah, i'm sure the accidents and such added to the action, but from what i've read, Button just drove away from the field.

there's already been a few talking heads comment that if the Brawn team keeps this pace, Button could have it locked up before Labor Day.

also, i don't recall saying anything about last year's race, so i'm not sure why comparing this year's race to such is even relevent.

It did seem that cars were able to follow each other more closely as the new rules and regulations intended them to do, at least behind Button.

Just to show how good the Brawn cars are right now, Barrichello knocked part of his front wing off in the first lap and was still fast enough to keep up with everyone in front of him.

Also read where Vettel is getting a 10 place grid penalty for the accident with Kubica. Not sure what he was supposed to do there other than just let off and just give the spot up to Kubica.

Speaking of Vettel, his Red Bull might have something for the Brawns by the time they start using KERS (if they do, anyway) and get their trick diffuser as well. He maintained about four to five seconds behind Button for most of the race.

It'll be interesting to see how good the Brawns are once the other teams, especially Ferrari, start using the more aero dynamic diffuser. Looks like McLaren is going to need a bit more than just that if they're going to catch up.

They won't keep this pace past Barcelona. By then, either the diffusers will be gone, or most of the teams will have designed one of their own and put it on the car. And Vettel was within 6 seconds or so for the whole race. Trulli was really strong, too. Webber will be strong when he gets a break. And Kubica was lapping a second faster than Button in the closing stages. It'll be fine.

I compared it to last years race because last year's race was epic.

i'm always amazed when McLaren drones go out of their way to support those liars and cheats. everything they get, they deserve.

Does anyone else find it incredible that Ferrari has not scored one point in the standings?

I think it's great. Not that I have anything against Ferrari, but it's cool seeing other teams at the top of the standings, at last for now. I suspect things will be a lot different whenever the other teams add on a trick diffuser and master/actually start using the KERS.

yes.

yeah, having parody is great for any series.

anybody but McLiaren.

but it's starting to seem like every year that when either mclaren or ferrari struggles for a few races, the other does too. last year when they were both struggling, best i remember towards the start of the season, that's when bmw was making solid runs. i would just about guarantee that once europe hits they will both be back to leading races, hopefully more ferrari than mclaren though.

Poor Lewis. I like how he and his manager/father are trying to distance themselves from McLaren now saying Lewis was the "victim" and was just "being a team player" even though he went along with it on two separate occasions.

and now all of the sudden he wants to leave mclaren and/or quit F1, go ahead and quit and stop talking about it. my favorite in this is how he claims he was just following orders when any other time he defys team orders, seems like whatever he does it's only in his personal interest and doesn't like to man up to anything.

well it looks like we can count on Ross Brawn to possibly dominate the next two races as well. the WMSC and FIA has declared the diffuser legal and jenson button will get to keep his wins.

i expect other teams to catch up though by the first of may when the european stretch kicks in, if not sooner than that.

Flavio is always good for a quote...

"The drivers in our teams have been and are world champions, while the championship is now fought between a driver who was almost retired and another one who is a good guy but a paracarro (Italian saying for being as slow as a milepost at the side of a road)," Briatore told Gazzetta dello Sport.

i'm glad to see that flavio and alonso were able to shut jenson and brawn down, at least for qualifying. i have nothing personal against ross brawn, jenson button or ruebens barichello but it's nice to see red bull doing something great this year and it's nice to see alonso back near the top. i must admit i couldn't stand alonso when he was at mclaren but since he's gone back to renault i've really realized his true driving ability, which in my opinion is one of the best today. his car control i believe is one of the best out there week after week, even with the crap he's been given to drive over the past couple of years.

Monaco this Sunday. Should be a great race.

Monaco is the worst circuit on the schedule. there's nothing great about narrow street circuits with no passing.

it's the tradition and location that make the race, not anything that happens on track.

Any thoughts on Ferrari pulling out of the '10 season if the voluntary $60M cap is put in place? I think it would lead to the demise of F1, especially if McClaren leaves also. This could be the end of Max Mosley's control.
