Any thoughts on Ferrari pulling out of the '10 season if the voluntary $60M cap is put in place? I think it would lead to the demise of F1, especially if McClaren leaves also. This could be the end of Max Mosley's control.

Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso made it clear in the paddock on Thursday that he would leave F1 if his Renault team pulled out of F1.
"For me the new Formula One would be unattractive, with the small teams and no drivers," Alonso said. "We want to compete with the best teams in the world, the maximum technology: We all want to compete with the best drivers.
"If this is not what Formula One is about next year, then it will be another category with that. I won't retire, I will drive for another championship."
yup

I'll still refuse to watch IRL even if Ferrari is involved.
Alonso could come to NASCAR next year. I think he's at least as marketable as Montoya. If F1 truly splits up it will cripple the sport. NASCAR could go on a full on blitz here and overtake F1/FOTA by bringing in a couple of the defectors that don't want to race in the split series.
Just imagine if they brought in Alonso and coaxed Michael Schumacher out of retirement. Heck, IRL could immediately establish their presence if they brought in a couple of those guys too. It won't make the IRL rise to CART like levels of the 80s but it would be another step in the right direction.
On the flipside if NASCAR wants to make a statement they could grab a couple of them like I said above. Plus, if they do bring in Danica from the IRL NASCAR can make a statement to everyone and say "Everyone that's anyone wants to be in NASCAR."
Of course I don't know if I could stand Brian France's ego expanding that much more either. I will say that all of this stuff will be very interesting and the things that happen the rest of this year could shape racing as we know it for the next 10-15 years. NASCAR is definitely on the verge of becoming the premier racing league in the world if this F1/FOTA split goes through.
I hear she's going to Roush.
And on F1, the split is off, they reconciled this morning and Mosley is gonna be out this year(supposedly).
