Thanks.....it's called be prepared, don't be stupid if you suspect you can't take the heat and humidity stay home or watch from the shade. Don't get overheated just to prove you can handle it. How many points do I Get?

one from some ass hat who thinks it funny to laugh at people getting sick or over heated..

Yeah.

Screw that 82 year old gal in our section.
And the 6 year old.
Honestly, most of the chubs bailed out early or stayed at home. Sitting in a hot, humid, breeze-less stadium is hard on a lot of people if they aren't acclimated. Regardless of fitness level.
Plenty of of Rush rats/Court South warriors were falling out, too.
Family members need to watch out for the elderly and kids when it gets hot. Maybe it's too much for an 82 yr old and a 6 yr old. No need to die watching a hot football game.
Not up on "rush rats/court south warriors" but if lots of alcohol is involved then dehydration is a possibility which can lead to heat exhaustion.

I mean, i really get what he's saying here, folks. Just don't get sick. It's as easy as that. Simply disallow your body to fall victim to the physical aspects of its surroundings. Easy as pie.

Man, thanks for simplifying my existence, man! You've made it all so much easier now!

People that ride a stationary or hit the treadmill...but only in the AC.

I don't get why you're annoyed by the fact people had trouble with the heat. If people don't deal with it day in/day out, they don't know how to get ready for it, or how to realize its creeping up on you. Could some of them prepared better? Sure, but it's not a perfect world.

From my perspective, unless you're off to deliver a baby, the wifey is ready to wring your neck, you're clenching your chest in agony and have a pain radiating down your left arm and neck, or you're literally about to blow a gasket because your team is getting humiliated, it's never okay to leave a game early. Ever. Call yourself a fan? Yeah, right. Get out of town, punk.

So let me get this straight, people who aren't paying attention to the game (twiddlin their D's posting on here when they should be watching football) are calling out people who took time and spent money to go to the game? Odd

True fan alert! #sarcasm

Understandable. It's hard for people who live out of town to make it in every week. Take it from me though, like others said, it's hard to blame anyone for leaving a little early today. The humidity absolutely sucked.

I would hate for older people with some heart issues having a heat stroke (or anyone else like kids) just because of a football game. It was miserable but stayed until 0:00. I could never leave a game when the outcome was still in question. If we were up by more I would have left earlier too.

I've left plenty of games early. Especially the ones that our out of hand (either way - UT winning or the other team). Long drive, traffic, kids and church tomorrow dictate when I leave and I will continue to evaluate when I leave by the performance or lack thereof on the field. I like my VOLS. But I love my family and they deserve a safe trip home from me more then I need to watch college kids win or lose a game. In the scheme of things.....football ain't everything.

If they'd just have all the (early season at least) games in the evening, this wouldn't be an issue.

I wasn't at this game but by reading this thread, I know what everyone was going through. I've sat through my share of miserable games in the hot summer sun, baseball and football. There were fans from various venues in the SEC today that had fans leaving early due to the heat. Heat isnt a joke. We'll have confortable football weather by the time we play UTC and Florida.

I think the hot weather with the noon kickoff is the main reason ...

No doubt about it. Lot of energy and enthusiasm in first half and team also played with energy. That all seemed to wane in second half. It was like the whole atmosphere was sapped. Not sure but I bet Jonesboro weather is akin to Memphis and Arky state was more accustomed to the high heat humidity thing.

I really don't get it! You think with the years we have been having the fans would soak up every minute of a win no matter who it's against! It's even early in the season when emotions should be high with our fan base.
STAY IN THOSE STANDS AND ENJOY VICTORIES! THEY DON'T COME TOO OFTEN THESE DAYS!!

Guys, I'm from SC and only make 1, sometimes 2 games a year. I was there today and it was HOT in the generals palace. I hung until 3min left in the 4th. But I could see how some of the older or younger crowd couldn't handle it. I'm 26 and work in the heat so I'm used to it, but we were rocking in the first half!! The fans held out as long as they could. And good job by the boys because I know they were cooking in the pads.

Also, 3rd down for what??? Loved it in person!! Everybody young and old gets into it!! gators are not ready!!

People were filing out of the USU game before the 4th quarter even started. And yes, I was there. And yes, I stayed the entire time.

I agree, noon games can be & are rough, depending on the weather and late summer ... also people, like us, have to change their travel plans & some hotels require a two night stay now... that's BS!! Later games sure are the best but I still feel really, really bad for those folks sitting in the worst of the sun yesterday, no cloud coverage and no breezes to speak of. UT really needs to rethink their scheduling..
