Florida granting teaching licenses to military + spouses.

I always have to throw in that it ranks better than our health care.
Yet we have some nuts who champion our health care system while blasting our education system.
Not really. Private education like private healthcare is always among the top in the world. As shown time and time again. However when the government gets more involved obviously outcomes are different

I was educated in public schools in the 70s-80s. I KNOW I received a better education than I could have gotten from my parents at home !!! HOWEVER ... I see MANY negative things happening in public schools systems.

1. Most (note, I said MOST ... ) have NO work or vocational experience outside of the school system mentality and this shapes their views on society/world.
2. They are suckers for spending ... sure, who DOESN'T want new books and laptops "every" year ... ?
3. Fund raisers ... Why can't they see past the sales pitches of the candy and candle selling companies ... ?
4. By their very nature, public schools reinforce the idea of socialism. (In my opinion)

I cannot compare public education to private school education. I think there are positives vs. negatives for each.

Screw off with your indignation.

I’ve seen plenty of teachers that sucked and they are protected even by the good teachers.

Plenty of intelligent people without a degree. Hopefully this improves the public schools.

That is the goal, right? Or the goal is to protect the feelings of adults?

So uneducated people will be educating our children. This is beyond stupid.

Sure there are plenty of intelligent people without a degree, but intelligence is not the requirement here. Military service/marriage to one that served is the requirement.

So, get out of here with your aggressively stupid response.

The deal is they both cater to the upper middle class and wealthy end of the spectrum.

Military marriage isn’t a part of the bill and 60 credit hours is “educated”. Intelligence is a requirement here. You should read the bill sometime

Get out of here with your as usual just plain stupid response.

Point to where it says someone has to be hired. I’ll wait.

How do you measure the quality of health care in a nation?

I did. 60 credit hours at 2.5 is not necessarily educated and doesn't show any great intelligence.

So 2 years of college is uneducated but at year 4 you magically become educated? Seems like a poor argument.

And the intelligence is not shown through the coursework, agreed. But what else must they do, both regular teachers and the new ones?

I’ll help you out. They have to pass the same subject area knowledge tests that all other teachers pass. So if they have 60 credit hours and the subject area knowledge, what’s the problem?

What if we had predominately black grandmother aged women teach predominately black children. Of all the black people I've ever met, they are afraid of their grandmothers more than anyone.

LOL. un'educated' does not mean unintelligent.

The fact that you leftists are getting your panties all twisted up over this is delicious.

You righties once are again are missing the whole point due to lack of understanding.
An "educated" person is in no way prepared to go into a classroom and teach unless they have gone through some training and practice (student teaching). Knowing the subject material well is only a part of the "education" needed.
An "uneducated" person is even less prepared than an "educated" person. And to place them in a classroom with no training and a five year contract is not good.

If there is a teacher shortage, pay more!!!!

They don’t have a five year contract. And we place untrained people into classrooms every year. You’re just making things up
