Folks lets face it, Hart just sealed our 15 year irrelevance

JG used our "interest" to provide leverage for his soon-to-be NFL courting rituals.

He was never interested in coming to college ball at all. He wants back in the NFL, and any leverage he can get to assist that effort is great for him.

After last seasons coaching changes and all the rumors that most wasn't true, you would think people would learn to just wait and see. But instead all you set yourselves up for a huge disappointment and the blame and brand Hart a failure cause you believe a lie.

Gruden never wanted to come here. He is too scared to coach in the college game because of all the rules and regulations. He is going to coach in the NFL next year and that is how it was from the beginning. To all the people who think that Gruden was the only coach who could turn UT around....you might as well put that cold steel to the side of your head and pull the trigger because it turns out your brain was pretty useless in the first place.

it's comments like this that keep me coming back just for the amusement factor of all this.

how is it the ADs fault and why should he be run out of town if gruden simply didn't want the job? how did he "blow it" as people keep saying?

now half hates gruden and he's a scumbag and they "never wanted him anyway" and the other half still thinks it's all part of the plan for him to say he doesn't want the job when in reality he does.

I for one am glad the Gruden talk is over...we were never going to get him...and in the end we didn't really want him. Yes the fanbase wanted him, but the people that are close to the situation didn't want him.

I put my trust in these people (Hart, his advisors, current coaches at UT, former coaches, former players, boosters, current coaches at other schools, etc.). I'm sure all of these people are advising and discussing who will be the next HC at UT.

Stick a fork in it we are done for a long long time as a program. We may have to shut down the university over this one. I don't really think we have any chance of getting a coach who is worth 50 cents now. At least not one that can recruit to help us to get us back. This is going to be worse than when kiffin left. Go Vols!!! All we can hope for is 6 wins a season now for a long time.

I thought that maybe this time, some coaches would be interested in being U.T.'s coach. I mean the facilities are better than 3 years ago. The roster is better than 3 years ago.

It looks like Butch Jones from Cincinnati will be our next coach. We fired Dooley and paid him $5,000,000 as a buyout just to hire a coach who is slightly better than him.

There MUST be some type of secret about the U.T. job within the coaching ranks as to why no one wants the job.

I can understand earlier that no one wanted the job because Hamilton would be their boss and the facilities needed to be renovated and the roster was empty, but those issues are taken care of.

December 10th Press Conference. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to announce the new head football coach of the University of Tennessee. Butch Jones and his family"

no the people that make a circus are the ones with all the inside info, can't we just go back to the 80's when all we had were newspapers, tv's and a rotary telephone?? social media has ruined this world.

why in the world would someone wanting to coach NFL use a less than mediocre college teams "interest" to try to elevate his status as a coach? he's not wanted by fact of how many others want him but his ability.

ok, i will say it this way for you folks, there are coaches available if like or love mediocrity, for me that is not what Tennessee is or needs here. But to each their own.

Seriously, take a Xanex and relax for a minute.

The sky is falling overreactions on this board in the last several hours are hilarious.

Gruden is NOT the only coach that can win in Knoxville. Hell, no one knows for sure if Gruden would have won!!!

I'm glad to see this place isn't just completely full of idiots on here. I agree whole heartedly. I mean this place is insane.

Are you seriously saying that Gruden was the only coach that could have won at Tennessee? There are no coaches elsewhere WITH college experience that could have done as good a job or even better?

:eek:k:

LAVol you are truly an idiot. Do me a favor and go back to your drugs and left coast attitude. Better yet start rooting for the Gators please. You have more in common with them.

Actually, unlike you, I'm a UT alum and donor. Three posts, namecalling and erroneous assumptions doesn't buy you any cred at all.

:lolabove: you think coaches only get hired on their 'ability?' :eek:lol:

Supply and demand - if someone is in demand, their price goes up. Doesnt matter who's 'demanding' it....any interest creates competition.

Ever been to a car dealer and had a salesman say "go ahead and think about it, but there was someone in here an hour ago who's gonna make an offer tomorrow"

Cmon man
