Does anyone else think that CFB has kind of lost some of its coaching stars, or maybe we just over hype some coaches. I mean we all want a big name, but really who is a big name other than Saban, Spurrier, or Meyer. I wanna see someone come in here and make his name as a VOL!!

Petrino or Strong would be a better choice IMO. Maybe not as an instant success in recruiting, but definitely will win Ames and rebuild the program.

i agree outside of jim mora jr, there is not a coach that will turn us around quick. excitement over, bring on strong or golden and lets head to the music city or liberty bowl. yeah.

i actually debated phrasing that a different way, perceived ability to win may have been a better way to put it, which would be the factor taking into the most consideration. why the hell would you hire a coach if you're not convinced he's going to win you more games than the guy you just fired.
just because some internet message boards say there is interest and the commodity doesn't address it one way or the other and use it to promote himself, there is a pretty good chance he's not using UT to boost his popularity. and anyone that believes an NFL orginization wanting to hire him would feel threatened by UT "supposedly" making all kinds of offers and deals is delusional enough to believe anything

Hart better hope he can get stoops are Peterson, Patterson. those are the only coaches I think the whole fan base would be happy with proven winners.

Hart's selection will get us back to where we want it to be. His list has only winners on it. Be patient and believe in the future. VFL

All that happened was Gruden said no man, it's fine. Hopefully we will find someone passionate about UT and collegiate football. There are plenty of great coaches out there. We will be fine, it may not be our grand slam home run we all wanted and may take a little longer but we can still hit a HR with this hire.

Hart cannot screw up UT anymore than Hamilton already did. It just isn't possible.

Sit back and let the man do his job and hope for the best. I'm sure some UF fans were pissed when Meyer was hired right after the wreck that was Zook.

We're not getting Gruden, Stoops, or Gundy. Probably a Strong, Fedora or another good coach with a decent resume. I want a guy with a winning resume and upside if we're not able to land a homerun guy.

The UT coaching revolving door will continue without the right hire

Without the right hire, our recruiting class will be shot to hell

At this time, we can't afford to take a major blow on the recruiting front. We are far behind now, its going to set us back further

the thing with meyer and chizik they each had one player get them national titles.... tennessee does not have that one player right now to do that with a mediocre coach. and after the failure that was Dooley i don't know if the kids can buy into another losing or barely winning coaches ideas to win.
