At this point any coach who doesn't get bought out after the initial contract is a win in my book.

I tend to agree with the op, but let's wait until another Dooley is hired before we jump to conclusions. However small, there remains the possibility that a decent coach may come here.

So Gruden has to publicly state this because you're hurt and more emotional than a menopausal woman? Gruden doesn't have to say anything and neither does Hart for that matter. Let him do his job and be judged by that, not every single rumor you hear on the interwebs.

Don't get me wrong, Im kind of let down too, but this does not mean the END of Tennessee football. There are some REALLY good names out there for our coach. Unfortunately, this whole Gruden thing has screwed it up for any coach we do get as far as excitement and fan support. Now that i think about it, short of a national name that recruits know, were not even sure Gruden would be a good fit for college ball. Lets get behind someone who HAS college experience. Fisher, Strong, ans some others are good candidates. With experience!

I can't get over the negativity here. Hart has done NOTHING to deserve ANY criticism so far (and not hiring Gruden when Gruden didn't want to come is not worthy of criticism). He hasn't gone around running his mouth like an idiot casting the university and the football program in a bad light (unlike Arkansas). He didn't rush out to fill the position as soon as possible, which got us in trouble last time. Frankly, from the list of names we've seen, virtually any of them will at least on paper be an upgrade over what we've seen over the past 3 years. I saw a post on here wondering if he had done anything yet -- it is probably closer to the truth that he began to put together a short list of candidates after the Missouri game because we all knew -- and I bet he knew -- the writing was on the wall.

So until he introduces someone who is obviously Dooley part II, lets sit back and watch who he comes up with. Other than Gruden, we've not seen wholesale rejections yet, so there are plenty of great coaches still on the table.

We are Learning what it's like to be a Vandy fan. Can't get kids in class because of high standards, win one SEC game a year and that's to KY, revolving door of coaches wait .. We are my dads Vandy!! :(
