Fulmer Replacement

You must remember, there are two primary functions in coaching at the college level, recruiting and executing your gameplan.

Some coaches are great gameplanners and executers, others are great recruiters, and the best are great at both.

Coaches who come in and win big their first 2 or 3 seasons then do nothing the rest of the time at their school, are obviously good gameplanners and subpar recruiters.

I don't think they are ridiculing you or the work you do. If they are then f*** 'em.

Because commenting on someone's chosen profession on a message board would be wrong?

It is a figure of speech. Also, if reading the word "high" on a message board causes some kid to go jump into a drug that will actually affect their life (i.e. something stronger than pot,) then that kid is going to get into trouble regardless.

I wonder if there is a chance that Auburn will have to forfeit wins from 2004 (not that I want to see an SEC school get in trouble-just making a point here). Wouldn't that give the Vols another SEC title? Perhaps that would calm some if Fulmer's detractors who point out how long it has been since the last SEC title.

Maybe I'm hypersensetive to comments about being "high" because it's my lifes work, my passion to see people free from addiction, or maybe it's because I spent 10yrs addicted to cocaine and lost evrything I had. I've been clean and sober for almost six years and I'm taking the test to be a licensed pastor. I work with young girls that have been devestated by drugs, so when I make a comment about Hal Mumme, just say "that's nuts", I'd settle for calling me a moron over the other stuff.

I've got a bit of a chocolate-covered almond addiction...so the "that's nuts" comment struck a nerve with me.

Hey brother, I wasn't trying to be flippant. I have a little cousin who is fighting a Meth addiction. I was just trying to point out that Mumme was an idiot.

BTW, I went through a severe depression a few years ago and saw a therapist. I find it offensive when people say "That's Nuts"

Nice to know that I'm sharing my time with a bunch of dopers and lunatics.
I wondered what it took to create a Fulmerite. Now I know. :tease2:

Yeah, my joke was that I didn't object to being called a doper or lunatic, but I did object to Fulmerite.

I crack me up.

IMO when more people come to accept that Fuleritism is a symptom of some other problem, be it mental and/or physical, we can all work towards finding a cure.

Shouldn't that be liberalism and fulmerism is a mental disorder?

Since they are both in favor of no accountability?

Like everything else, there's not money in the cure.

Reading this thread...wow.

Hal Mumme? LMAO

Jeff Fisher? LMAO...you think we are conservative now, just wait 'til that happens.

Any other NFL coach...don't bet on it. Any successful head coach in their right mind would not come back to college. The only reason we have college head coaches who are former NFL coaches is because they failed in the NFL.

The only possible guy left there is Butch Davis out of a group like that. I imagine someone will pick him up before long.

I honestly have no idea what would happen in that scenario, but those first 2 mentioned...LMAO.
