That's their goal. Always has been, and a couple of the honest ones have even admitted it. And it would have been the same if we had won in regulation, only slightly less vocal. We'd still hear the same bleating to their BFF "Danny."
Uh, I would expect more changes than just those two...sadly.I fear both Justin and Sara are gone after this season. Sara doesn't even get a chance to get in the flow of a game. And notice she is Constantly looking back at the bench knowing she is about to be taken out after 3 minutes. She looks so confused at times. She doesn't have a roll or unsure if it. She came to play basketball, not watch. IMO
Usually there are 2, not always, but thank God KJH had sense not to drag Rickea in there, and I'm sure everyone was just too tired and too upset.Having only Hollingshead at the post-game. Isn't there always 2 players with Kellie?
Next to the scheduling malpractice and the RJ mismanagement, the inability to help Sara get where she should be has been one of the biggest disappointments of the season. She does look confused and restrained.Sara doesn't even get a chance to get in the flow of a game. And notice she is Constantly looking back at the bench knowing she is about to be taken out after 3 minutes. She looks so confused at times. She doesn't have a roll or unsure if it. Because unlike the other players who have good skills in some areas and zero skills in others, the upside of these 3 does not outweigh the downside. Others, like Tess, Sara, Karo, and PGs can usually help if an effort is made to compensate for what they can't do. Wynn can occassionally help bc she is quick and can usually play D. But for a team that already struggles offensively, having Miles and Wynn out there is too big of an additional liability. Please tell me why Wynn , Miles, and Pissott isn't getting important minutes
...I hear the argument that Justine can't be worse than what we have out there. But from what I've watched in person, she just simply is not ready. I don't think she'd help any more than Tess does. Probably has more upside potential, but right now she's a baby giraffe on roller skates.
And that's always a coaching challenge. When do you throw in the towel on the current season and start playing for the future? When you do that, expect core players to also throw in the towel.Baby giraffes that are nurtured and get to walk beside momma learn to walk quicker than baby giraffes that are stuck in the mud
No becoming more like Holly. I thought it was the talent she inherited the first season, but she hasn't been able to improve much on that in the next three seasons. Without Jackson were not going to the NCAA that is a fact. She and Hollingshead kept us in that game last night not much from anyone else. The goal is to get back to some semblance of the program Pat built. Have you seen any signs of Kellie being capable of that?
And that's always a coaching challenge. When do you throw in the towel on the current season and start playing for the future? When you do that, expect core players to also throw in the towel.
If Kim had this roster and was looking at 10+ losses, no wins over ranked opponents and a likely early tourney exit due to overscheduling and bad losses, yes.You don't throw in the towel when you're squarely in third place in a 14-team P5 conference.
If LSU hadn't squeaked out their recent wins, does anyone think their fans would be asking Mulkey if it was time to throw in the towel for the season?
The big difference is Mulkey could afford a loss or two and still play their first two NCAA games at home. We can't afford any losses probably an 8 or 9 seed now and that is where death in the tourney comes early. We got to keep playing though miracles happen. You don't throw in the towel when you're squarely in third place in a 14-team P5 conference.

It’s USC, LSU and everybody else….we are holding onto being the best of the everyone else. Not sure develop for the sake of Justine, but playing Justine because those ahead of her aren’t getting it done.If Kim had this roster and was looking at 10+ losses, no wins over ranked opponents and a likely early tourney exit due to overscheduling and bad losses, yes.
Hanging on to 3rd or 4th in the SEC is great, but the conference is weak and there's other issues with coaching. Outside a Cinderella run in one of the tourneys, this season has been a major disappointment and reviewing the coaching is a must.
That said, I'm actually against throwing in the towel now just to try to develop Justine. IMO she's way too far away for it to happen this season and I'm not sure playing her in her current state of unreadiness would be beneficial to her. Towel stays rolled up on the scorer's table.
KJH said 4 or 5 games ago she wished RJ was less unselfish and got up more shots. Said it again last night, also said they need to help her get those shots. Yes, they certainly do and that has been a coaching failure. As a result, RJ is already forcing shots bc she has to. Such a shame for a player so smooth and skilled.I don't put any of this loss on Rickea who kept us in the game but I wish she was a more selfish player. I would rather see her force a few shots out of our stagnant offense sets rather than Powell or Walker-- the odds are better.
Exactly why she shouldn't be playing. She is not ready. Should she be? Would she be if played more earlier? Not sure, but right now all that playing can do is hurt her confidence.Last thing Justine needs is self doubt.
KJH said 4 or 5 games ago she wished RJ was less unselfish and got up more shots. But she hasn't helped RJ to get those shots by running plays to get her open. So sadly, RJ is already forcing shots bc she has to. Such a shame for a player so smooth and skilled.
Our go to move for last second plays is RJ posting up, which she does amazingly well, gets low, seals off and usually finishes. But don't know if you've seen RJ up close, I did when she came up to sign autographs after the Ole MIss game. (Unfortunately the line was too ginormious to wait out on a school night, so Game Buddy did not get the Rickea Top shirt signed.) But the point is, she's tiny. Not really skinny, but lean and slender as all get out. At 6'2", cannot weigh more than 145 lbs. So when she's making those post moves, she's giving up at least 30 lbs to everyone she's going against. Incredible how often she's able to succeed.
So how about some screens or plays where she can curl into the lane for the short jumpers she's so good at? How about any plays to run the offense thru her without forcing her into desperation one on ones?
Part of the problem of course is also the girl with the curl. RJ needs JH to be present and be a factor to keep her out of the forced zone.
Exactly why she shouldn't be playing. She is not ready. Should she be? Would she be if played more earlier? Not sure, but right now all that playing can do is hurt her confidence.
