looks like he got locked up in CA and could only access certain sites maybe, so he just posted anything and everything he could, with a crap understanding of the eng lang and not much time to type as much as possible

It looks like the couple from Memphis is still missing. Their 3 sons were the ones who were airlifted to Vanderbilt. Sounds like all 3 will recover.

The family was trying to escape when the 3 sons went a different direction when they met some resistance. I think there might have also been the condo owner with the husband and wife. Just a heart breaking story and one that is getting told here in Memphis.

He proceeded to look the site and story up while I was still reading the comments the best I could to him. Told me thank you that he would start calling on this right away and ask if I minded if he could call me back. I told him ofcourse.

Within 25 minutes he calls me back and tells me he called the local FBI office and the Judges office. Also says that both the judge and FBI are aware of him and know him as "Erick Giumelli".

He also said he doubted he had anything to do with the fire in Gatlinburg but was just being gleeful over it in his post.

I mentioned he talked about the big valley fire out in Mendocino last April in a comment on the second story with the 2000 comments. He told me they caught that guy.

I asked him why he wasn't in jail and threatening their Police Department, agents and judges. He said there is no credible evidence since he just posts the comments and doesnt act. Also said the FBI office called him a nutjob.

At this point in my head I'm thinking two things. #1 I'm calling bs because threatening Federal Agents and judges whether written or spoken are huge offenses and all they would have to do is get a warrant, trace the ip address and grab him and his computer or #2 this sent them scrambling and when he called me back downplayed it to me and just said the FBI called him a nutjob.

Or #3 Maybe he is just some nutjob.

I did email him both links with the comments so I passed along what we all found and can sleep better knowing they have the info if something was to happen.

It got me thinking later today. If they really just call him a nutjob and laugh it off, I sure hope they are really monitoring this guy. These are the people that walks in movie theaters and malls to do as much damage as possible.


I would like to say sorry and I never meant to hijack the Gatlinburg thread with this. The comments were eerily creepy to me after watching my beloved Smoky Mountain town in flames Monday night.

Been reading up on the "big valley fire" in Mendocino Co. The lieutenant told me they arrested the guy that started it, yet all I can find about what started it was faulty hot tub wires.

A very sad situation. Very surprised by this but WBIR here in knoxville said this fire is only 10% contained and that only 30% of the homes had been checked.

Hey guys, ya'll got me curious so I hit up Google. Dude is a Cali native born and raised and has a rap sheet in Cali going back a decade. Most recent arrest was stalking with intent to do bodily harm. Local PD knows exactly who he is as they've booked him enough times. Early rant posts from what is most likely the jail library use somewhat better spelling and grammar which declines steeply as years go by, but he never ever spells one daughters name correctly. Kids are 20 somethings now but mom changed their names legally to her maiden in 2006 by public notice. Oldest daughter has her own rap sheet and other one shows up in court records. Feds may just have this one pegged dead on as a few sandwiches shy of a picnic.

Edit: further research points to both children he mentions as being daughters.

Can anyone in the know or anyone with access to Gatlinburg give any updates on the Gatlinburg Sky Lift or Mysterious Mansion?

There are photos of the front of the Mansion post fire that are floating around but nobody has seen or taken photos of the backside of it. We saw the Sky Lift on tv the day after and it "appeared" intact but no word on damage sustained.

Last I read the owners still had no idea. They haven't been allowed back into the area yet.

As far as I know the Sky Lift came through ok, but I imagine it will have to go thru a pretty serious inspection/walk down.

The going thought is Mysterious Mansion is still standing but they probably won't know for sure until today or Friday.

It's crazy, I've heard both they are fine and destroyed...one of my student's father is a fireman and she told me yesterday that it was worse than they were telling people and that the lift and MM were both damaged

I'm glad the Mysterious Mansion is still standing after the #gatlinburgfire. This is a pic from earlier today. Many others were not so lucky. So much was destroyed. So much history is gone forever. Over 700 buildings gone and 7 lives lost. I'm heartbroken about the devastation. They say the fire was caused by a person. If it was accidental, how could someone be so careless? If it was intentional, how could anyone be so cruel and evil? Why?

That's what has me so confused. People keep saying "It's worse than they are saying..." but it doesn't match up to the aerial pictures, etc.

No Federal funds should be made available! Let the self righteous shmucks pray themselves out it. I'm sure god wouldn't let them down.

We do not owe them anything. These cretins vote against disaster relief for everybody they don't care about. They celebrate when tragedy happens to people they don't like. They are hateful to people and crow about it unprovoked.

To hell with them. It's about time something bad happened to them.

A guy at work said they've devided Gatlinburg in to four sections and have two of those four sections searched at 80%?

Is this correct?

Amazingly enough we have not requested Federal Funds. Fema is not here, TEMA is. State levels are handling it all. We are actually for the most part giving to local organizations and not the red cross. My understanding is the Red Cross is packing the donations up and using them where they see fit not necessarily in Sevier County. We really aren't asking for Federal Help.

We did not BURN our Town. However we will Not pay to rebuild FEDERAL parks and property. We have insurance, we resilience and we have shovel ready jobs.

Let us burn and watch our community come together and flourish regardless. There is no looting no rioting only good people supporting one another.

My friends and neighbors are weeping, for their loss. Let them talk while my best friends are sweeping for bodies. We are the VOLUNTEER state, and WE are showing our true colors.

While the tourist are calling and berating some of my best friends because the parade has been cancelled, and it has "ruined their vacation".

We will survive and we WILL flourish. We don't want your federal funding or help. The current president has ignored what is happening on Federal Land. MSN is focusing on tweets. While we are collecting tractors and trailers to help our own.

Say as you will. We are showing our true colors. We are Tennessee We are the Volunteer State, We Will Flourish and rise from the ashes like the great Phoenix.

WE ARE #SEVIERCOUNTYSTRONG
