Georgia opens -9.5 vs Vols

Vegas usually gives the home team 7 points to begin with for home field advantage so they are thinking it’s a toss up game. If our QB play is manageable our defense can win this one but we can’t start off slow on offense and take that chance.

Georgia struggles with mobile QBs. Dart ran all over them and so did Lagway before his injury. Nico or whoever is in there will need to take off to keep the defense honest.

Where I think the rubber meets the road is our DL vs their OL. Their OL is not good and it’s one of the main issues why Beck has struggled. I think their defense and crowd noise will cause Nico and co. to struggle mightily. If our defense can hold serve, we may get a chance to win late with a big play or drive. I don’t see us scoring more than 20 pts in Athens, though so we gotta rough’em up.

The paradox for me is that I married into a UGA family. I want this win so bad.
We just can not have over a 100 yds in untimely and crazy penalties to help them out. No fumbles in the red zone too

Tennessee football is 11.5-point underdogs in its critical SEC matchup against Georgia as of Sunday afternoon, according to the FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 50.5. That means the sportsbook estimates Georgia will earn a 31-20 victory.

Lines vary pretty dramatically right now for the Georgia-Tennessee game. Some have Tennessee as little as 9.5-point underdogs while some have the Vols as much as 16.5-point underdogs. The radical differences in line is probably due to the uncertain status of Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava after he exited the Mississippi State game with an injury.
The bookies usually have information the general public does not. This line suggests Nico is out.

What encourages me is how thoroughly dominated UGA was against Ole Miss and how out of sync they looked against Florida the week before. It wasn’t just an “off day” or not caring or whatever. Our defense is just as good or better than Ole Miss. Georgia will look better I’m sure but it should be a competitive game.
It’s called Bobo. He ain’t no Monken (sp), and the dawgs have come back to earth a little.

We struggle with mobile QB's too. I wish we had a mobile QB to back up Nico but that's not gonna happen until 2026 if his commitment sticks

They likely don't think UT has enough production from the QB position with/without Nico. The Vols are no worse than 4th in Total O, Scoring O, Rushing O, Scoring D, Total D, Passing D, and Rushing D. They're 9th in Passing O.

usually if one book knows then they all know. early this morning ESPNBets had it at 8.5, Dual was 9.5 then later it jumped to 11.5 there. Kinda crazy move

Ole Miss had 5 sacks and 8 tackles for loss. Also, Carson Beck is tied for the FBS lead in interceptions thrown with 12.

Whatever. Playing between the hedges is overrated. Not that loud and definitely not intimidating. It’s nothing like playing in Neyland. Vols will be just fine in Athens!
2 years ago the noise level definitely was a factor. We were ranked #1 and they cleaned our clocks 27 - 13. I'd say the Dawg faithful will be loud and ready. Ole Miss embarrassed them and they'll want satisfaction.
