Georgia Tech interested in Bruce Pearl???

No, the good recruits want to play at a place that doesn't pride itself on hanging conference division title banners.

actually they go for wherever they feel is the best fit for them

that's why you see chunks of them go to the historically well schools, chunks go to to whoever's currently hot, there are chunks who want to stay near home and others who want to get away, alot that go to where they think can best develop them for the professionals, and plenty that go to where they feel the best relationship with the coach

good players going to schools is honestly all over everywhere in sports

Yes, because my simply stating the facts comparing Green to Pearl is actually me advocating for the return of Wade Houston.

Green didnt win an outright SEC Championship, get a #2 seed, or overachieve with a team that couldnt win the year before. In fact he underachieved which led to his firing.

You mean Brandon Knight isn't considering Kentucky because of all of their "East titles?" Shocking.

Wow....how come you only speak when there arent stats or facts involved. What happened to that rich storied UT bball tradition you were going to tell us about?

If the Boston College job came open I could see him going for that. I'm sure there are a few other jobs as well.

he's really tied down - from everything from the school, the other sports team, the knoxville community, heck even the local jewish community there from everything i've seen

I mean it's not unreasonable to say he'd leave for somewhere, but if it were immediate and it wasn't like say the fans chasing him out, then the money would have to be really quite significant (much higher than I think BC would be willing to offer him)

I made the message though mainly to point out that the people saying he's just the same as Kiffin are pretty far off

That may be true to a point. But most of the good players' list include all of the traditional powerhouses.

He won a share of the title. Seriously...the womens volleyball thread is needing some posters go over there where no one will know that you dont know what you are talking about.

He won an overall title in 1999-00. Might check the SEC record books and we'll see who doesn't know what they're talking about.

alot of them do; it really depends on the players

unfortunately recruiting athletes (that are really still 18 year old kids) is so everywhere that just being one thing doesn't guarantee/cause or make anything

What? You weren't aware of the Private Act the legislature passed stating that the line of succession for the UT basketball position shall be Pearl-Houston-Green-Peterson?

Such a vicious cycle.

But it is a rally cry for the "who we gunna git" crowd.

I actually checked the record books just to make sure and I was right after all. They didnt win the outright they won a share and there were three other teams that also claim an SEC Regular Season Championship that year. Dont compare an outright by Pearl to a shared title by Green. Especially when that title was shared with three others.

Questioning fandom now.

Try and bring something the other Pearlites haven't already tried.

Your right i shouldnt question whether or not they are a fan. I have high expectations of people who post...Based on your posts I need to lower those expectations. My rule: Post facts not garbage that cant be backed up.

Doesn't diminish the fact Green has the same title to claim as your boy Bruce does.

Fact is. Bruce Pearl has done nothing different here than the guys before him who were not well liked.

What's different? That he can paint his chest and make a fool of himself? Or is it the standing in chairs that got you?

Or maybe it's his undying love for UT until another job he covets opens up?

Enlighten me, Oh Factual One.

Really? How's that work for you're senseless "who you gon' get" refrain?

We have poured big cash into our basketball program. Pearl helped that. He has made this a great job and our fans are proving that middlin outcomes are cool. How is that not a good job?

So, was the SEC better when Pearl won an outright title or when Green tied with some folks? I think that is a relevant question
