Get Ready For ND

Hello Ladies

I just wanted to chime in before the game so I will not be considered fair weather after I talk smack when ND destroys Tenn.

Sorry I have not been around for some time but the conversation turned to kids and wiggles and surprise I lost a lot of interest.

I know ND has hit a rough patch but I agree with Jason that nothing on Tenn. really scares me that much. I think that having a go to player is an advantage by the way especially in close games. For example somebody must have watched Braylon Edwards single handedly win for Mich. The difference between a good and great team is the ability to win when you are not playing your best and a great way to achieve this is to have a "slump-busting" player. Tenn. does not have this which is why I think they may be subsubtible to an upset. I admit that this will be an upset, Tenn has a more talent deep team which makes the fact that they are going to lose at home even more rewarding.

WE ARE IRISH

I am so excited to hear what all your excuses are... there will be some many I just can't wait to hear how you got screwed. Smell ya later

most coaches would kneel in the closing seconds of the half... others would let their starting QB get injured on the last play knowing that their other "starter" is already injured... was it worth losing the QB? If they struggled in the first half with their #1 what will happen in the second? IRISH VICTORY

ND is a little better on offense than I expected, but really it all came in one drive and I think the defense is starting to assert itself.

We'll see what happens with Ainge's shoulder, but even if we have to bring in Clausen, it's not like Ainge was setting the world on fire.

I agree except for us losing part. ND still can't move the ball.

All class............... You better hope you win. What the hell will you say if you loose to our 3rd QB!!!!!!!!!!

Notre Dame got a gift today. They would never have beaten us with Ainge or Schaeffer.

I wish I could slap Spencer Tillman.

Come on AJ - you guys played great and my hat is off to ND, but you've got to admit that us playing our 3rd string QB might have had something to do with our offense looking like a high school team.

Dude... We would have won with Ainge and/or Schaeffer in. Period. Clausen looked terrible. Given, if we had Ainge or Schaeffer, it still would have been a close one but we would have won. But, it's in the past. It will upset our BCS rankings, but I think we just need to forget about the BCS at this point. If we take out Kentucky and Vandy, and still can make it into the SECCG, and we can get Ainge and Schaeffer healthy by then, I think we can upset. If we do that, we're going to a bowl.

It may be a dark day, but I think we can put it behind us. We've got a bye week next week, and hopefully Ainge will be back in action in time to play Vandy, and maybe even Kentucky.

come on fellas, give us (myself and Jasonms... my brother) the due respect we deserve. It is time. We came onto a Tenn fan homepage told you the irish would win and THEY DID. It is time to hear the outroar, it is time to hear the excuses, if ND is soooooo bad then where does that put your blessed VOLS. Hell, we may not be able to beat Florida, Georgia, or SC (Lou Holtz is GOD) but we did beat you and I think it is about time you guys give us some respect. Come on. What do you have to say now.

P.S. Someone was worried because ND was not ranked, congrats they will be now.

IRISH FOREVER, Smoke(y) that one.

Congrats on the win. Like I said in another thread, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. You guys showed up today, and it would have been a tough game with or without Erik taking snaps. We could have won... But our injuries did us in.

And like Austin said, we'll be sending you guys post cards from our bowl game after we beat Auburn in our rematch.

I think I said it was a great win and my hat is off to ND. Sorry if those jaded Irish glasses that you have won't let you acknowledge that a couple of breaks went your way. <_<

I'm not taking anything away from ND. You guys came to Knoxville and got the W, and that is all that matters. What else do you want me to say?

ND played a heck of a game. There defense was fantastic and the offense scored when they had to. Tennessee did neither. Props to you guys, nicely played but you'll still can kiss my :shakeit:

I hate to say I told you so but....... The Tenn. logic is hilarious. In one post you have a guy talking about Tenn. not having any stars and being so deep, and then after you get your :shakeit: handed to you the excuses start. If Tenn. was such a dominate team they would have beaten ND even without a key injury.

I also find it funny to read the posts about the SEC's dominate speed and athletic ability, while the Big Ten and other Midwest teams "just don't get it". It must be pretty embarrassing to lose to a bunch of slow, untalented, overated, Midwestern guys. Oh well, maybe next year .

Also, what bowl game are you planning on sending me a post card from? If I remember correctly Auburn destroyed you by 24 points. Getting drilled by the Irish probably won't help your cause. I'll be sure to send you a card from the ND bowl game.

As for the gift, after the Florida game you guys have no room to talk. Take the loss and shut your pie-holes. See in South Bend in a year!

WE ARE ND!!!!!!!

Yeah ND will get ranked, but I bet they'll be lower than UT.

:shakeit:

We'll probably end up ranked somewhere in the 17-19 area. ND will be 20+.

Like I've said, I don't mind. Our getting into a BCS game has only to do with whether or not we can beat Auburn. That's it.

Since when does winning off a pick six from a 3rd string QB constitute "getting drilled" ??? Are we redefining the term? Because I thought "getting drilled" meant AT LEAST a double digit win, if not complete DOMINANCE. And ND didn't DOMINATE the Vols today. The players they had on the field just played better than the ones that we had out there. ND won, and they should be proud, but they BY NO MEANS drilled UT.

Y'all ND fans have very little to brag about. Y'all beat our 3rd-string QB, who had played in only three games previously. Y'all also got lucky on our first possession, when Cedric Houston was on his way to scoring a TD, but he barely got tripped up by one of your defenders. We only got a FG out of that possession. Luck, luck, luck.

While us ND fans may have very little to brag about, Y'all Tennesse fans have nothing to brag about, just a big old L on the record and a boat load of excuses. Kinda funny

Congrats on probably being higher ranked than Notre Dame. There was a head to head and don't think that people won't remember. I remember a certain Tenn. teams supporters oh yeah you guys bitching that Georgia was higher ranked even though you beat them. Well now we file the same complaint and unless you are hypocritical you will have to agree Notre Dame SHOULD be higher ranked.

By the way being a full supporter I now wish Tenn. to win every game by 50, I truly hope they do win the SEC. All it does is make ND look better.

Also the excuses do need to stop because theoretically ANYTHING could have happened like... Notre Dame intercepting ever pass thrown for a TD, ND wins by 234 or Tenn. taking a time machine and getting Peyton Manning at QB, Tenn by 63. Neither of these happened people live in the present with what actually happened. During all your hypotheticals about Tenn. winning have you ever brought in the variable that ND could have played better and won by MORE than they did. Nobody played or plays perfect, people get tripped with only one man to beat, QB's get injured (in a greedy attempt at trying to score with 5 sec and being nowhere near the end zone), **** happens to every team, every game and according to the broadcast "Tenn specializes in stepping up when players get injured". You got beat accept it and  down.

No excuses, ND won. Congrats.

To call this domination or a drilling how ever is nuts. By that logic, BC and BYU drilled ND. For a real example of a drilling - check out Purdue vs. ND

As for the polls, again you are missing the point. A large part of the beef with the results between UT and UGA was that they had identical records and common opponents and UGA had a much lower SOS! ND still has a worse record and of course is ranked below UT. Check the polls, W/L record dominates all other factors. If ND finishes with an equal record and stronger strength of schedule or a better record then they should be ranked higher. Otherwise it is not hypocritical to argue that UT should be ranked higher than ND. Are you filing a formal complaint that Michigan is ranked higher than ND???? Why isn't BYU ranked ahead of ND, why not Purdue?, why not BC?
