He is actively recruiting:

All in MS or LA

He has one commit to his name.....but he was influential in landing a few others and was trying to get us into the Louisiana scene. I'd hate to lose him.

Rivals.com College Football - 2009 Coaching carousel

Mitch Browning linked to Akron which would be great!

Fulmer linked as possible at Louisville and Kansas.

Not a good discussion in the article of assistants, but the group on UT's staff would not make a lateral move.

Gran could leave to be OC at a good program, particularly if Tubberville is hired.

Orgeron could leave to be DC at USC but I doubt it.

Wilson could leave to LSU. A step up for him salary and position wise.

Do not need to worry about Reaves.

Lance Thompson as DC at Memphis is remotely possible but he could be paid well to be DC at a place like Louisville.

Randy Edsall at Kansas would make good sense.

But if he wins the Big East first and then takes that step, doesn't he get a better position potentially? Big 12 is OK, OK ST, NEB and TEX...Doesn't seem to be a step up with all that his program has been through and the backing at that school.

Only guy we'd be concerned with losing due to Frank Wilson leaving at this time would be Anthony Johnson DT for next year...

But he's mainly committed to Coach O. Even if Wilson stays, keeping Johnson is going to be tough seeing that there's another year+ until his NSD and LSU isn't going to stop recruiting him anytime soon.

Ken Adams, Dequan Menzie, Risean Broussard, and Anthony Johnson. We could lose Adams, Menzie, and Johnson if he leaves. This would be a big blow, and I think he's gone...

I wondered if the in home visit list with Orgeron visiting those recruits (your list LV) was to counter and hand off Wilson's recruits to the CEO.

I'm sure Orgeron is a factor in their recruitment but Adams and Johnson wouldn't be here without CFW. It will be VERY difficult to keep them without Wilson...

Look for Ball at UGA or Beatty at W. Virginia to be his replacement if he takes the LSU position. I'm still skeptical about him taking it though.

Kelly from Central Florida sounds like an adequate replacement to me...

I can't imagine him not taking it unless we match LSUs offer. I mean, they are doubling his pay to come back home...

Instead of talking about who we might lose. Let's talk about who we might get with a new hire. It looks like CFW is LSU bound so lets throw out some names of some adequate replacements and the guys they could possibly bring with them.

WTF! He hasn't even been here for a year. I don't care how much they offered how could you go to the players you've been coaching up and building relationships with and tell them you're leaving them to go to a scum bag liar of a coach that throws his own players under the bus and is on the hot seat. Lateral move at best. Vols are on the way up. LSU is on the way down. nuff said. Can't believe this... what a joke. The word commitment means about as much these days as a cup of JACK SQUAT.

I take your word as gold on this site. I know that you don't post too often, but you are money when you do. I'm very curious to see who the replacement will be, but if you say it he will be better than CFW I believe you. I just hope he is a good position coach as well as a good recruiter.
