HBO's "Game of Thrones"

One of the best scifi/fantasy/comics reviewers on YouTube is a guy named Charlie..his channel is called "Emergency Awesome". I love his stuff, he pretty much shoots down the really crazy theories, and breaks down the most likely options. He is the best at it imo. He has grown to have a humongous following. I highly recommend. He also does spoilery and non spoilery breakdowns, and lists in the description which it is.
I watch his channel pretty regular. He does real well with giving good ideas with support rather than just some wacked out hair brained ideas.

You need an appearance by Drogo because Jason Momoa lol

Same, love Momoa!

So after sleeping on it here's my thoughts going forward. These writers aren't Martin so expect more of the "normal" Hollywood type ending. They've yet to eliminate any main characters at this point despite having one huge battle and another on sea moment. So with that in mind I fully expect the recent Dany heel turning to be a distraction rather than a final result, they want us to assume she's going Mad King so they can ultimately show her as what she has been built to be for the entire series, a true Queen of the people.

Tyrion warns her of Varys treachery ultimately gaining her trust he's lost. I think Varys might end up getting taken out. I fully expect Dany to give Jon the throne, or to give up her claim to Jon etc. not sure if that means they still get married or not...but my theory is she'll have that moment where it's her choice to either take the throne and lose everyone that loves her (Jon in this case) or to leave it. I expect she leaves it.

People I think will be gone for good:

The Mountain, Cersei, Jaime, Varys, Greyworm, Euron (by Yara's hand I believe). I think Euron's fleet waiting on the dragon and them looking to the sky is a tease as well, really don't know how we end up seeing more dragons appear but I also don't think Dany just goes flying in again head on like that.

Any idea how the dragon dive avoided all those giant catapult bolts aimed right at it? Another thing that bothered me after thinking about it.

Is Sansa headed to Kings Landing? I need to watch again, but I think she said she wanted to see the death of Cercie.

I think a dragon being flown would do better at avoiding them, they caught the first dragon by surprise otherwise I don't think it would have been taken down.

She said something along the lines of wanting to see Cersei executed, but wouldn't get her chance now. Assuming that was to imply "because Dany will burn King's Landing down now" could be wrong, but Sansa isn't leaving Winterfell.

Too bad nobody could convince the magical assassin who wants to kill Cersei to come along in case she couldn’t be reasoned with.

@Grand Vol and other military tacticians: didn’t the widespread adoption of the crossbow mark some major turning point in warfare in medieval times?

There’ve been crossbows in earlier seasons (notably Tywin on the pot), but true crossbows and much larger versions seem very prominent this season. They’re certainly caused a big expansion of battle scenes in terms of range.

Anyone think Dany is pregnant with Jon's baby???
Then they could both rule and McGill and I would be happy.

I like him as an actor/person okay...not just another piece of meat to me ya hear me @JCP201 !?!?
Seriously, If Dany dies, I do want that scene. She is one of my favorites and it would be nice to see that kind of ending.

Has anyone noticed that Sansa is now essentially alone in Winterfell, accompanied only by Brienne, Sam and Gilly, and Tormund’s group of Free People “until the winter storms die down”?

That has a very waiting-in-the-crypt feel to me.

eta: and Ghost, until Tormund heads north again.

Yes and no.

Crossbows were seen as an evolution of the longbow during Medieval times and was a significant change in warfare. However, as was pointed out in an earlier season, they took a long time to reload and didn't have the "rate of fire" of a trained long bowman. Nor the accuracy of a good archer at long range.

On the flip side, training archers, specifically those with a longbow, took a lot of time, a lot of practice and a good deal of strength. Crossbows were able to turn normal infantry into long range weapons with a minimal amount of training.

I think you're seeing more of the large versions of the Dragon-killer crossbow this season rather than the handheld version.

You say this like there's someone going to take Winterfell? Cersei has made good on her own promise to never return there from Season 1 (think it was) and with the undead gone there is no threat. The Free People being allies has eliminated Winterfell's greatest foe.

I actually wonder if Winterfell becomes the new capital after Dany burns King's Landing down...
