Herman Cain

Clinton** doesn't belong on that list. He was a star for the Dems. Even more today.

**I'm not endorsing Clinton, simply replying to a post.

He was more charismatic than the rest, but I don't think he was a star during the initial campaign. As I recall Brown was the front-runner, and Clinton came from nowhere late. Maybe wrong. I was young.

Apparently Cain said he didn't repeatedly change his story yesterday, he just got the wording wrong. How dumb does he think we are?

How dumb is he for not having a statement prepared for this. It was inevitably going to come out.

100 % accurate. It is mind boggling how bereft of electable leadership talent the GOP is right now.

Not really. The left has a highly developed and effective practice of systematically destroying anyone who threatens to be conservative "electable leadership talent".

It is frustrating to watch these kinds of poorly founded attacks get so much attention while liberals pretty much run interference for the most radical Dems.

I haven't read all that has been posted here... but I do know how these things work. If there is an accusation and you believe that a judge will hear it then you have to calculate the costs. You have to decide whether it is worth winning or not.

Do you fight it out while the reputation of the organization is drug through the mud even if you believe you have a guaranteed win? OR... do you come to a settlement that keeps things quiet... and in the end probably costs less than fighting it?

This happens all the time and has nothing to do with an implicit much less explicit admission of guilt.

I don't think it matters.... and it is not going to be catastrophic to Cain unless something really big comes out. The Politico reporters that wrote the story are now apparently saying they don't want to get into the details. IOW's, they want to throw some mud then refuse to discuss it when challenged on the particulars.

Though the MSM will continue to talk about it... there is much less here than any of a number of Obama scandals. For instance the sweetheart deal he got on his home in Chicago courtesy of a now convicted felon. Or maybe his refusal to releasse his education records.... or maybe the way he has minimized his relationships with left wing extremists to include at least one known terrorist?

None of those stories have received the MSM attention that this Cain story already has.

This guy is looking a little bit better everyday, huh fellas?

51% of post 9/11 vets say that the use of military force to fight terrorism creates hatred that breeds more terrorism.

Link and context please. That's definitely a loaded statement. Or is that from the video?

That's what I thought until Cain decided to keep changing his story.

I would say the same for the Dems - they just happen to have an "in". No way Obama would win if he wasn't the incumbent. Wouldn't even get the nomination. The best from either side are on the side lines

You don't know that. Given what we know now, I would say you're right.

Your last statement is truly profound and 100% correct

Totally false...LOL

I learned about the Cain thing on here fyi. I refuse to watch a lot of the crap they spew on the news.

And, the attacks on Obama, from the right, regarding his birth, his religion, a former pastor, his grades, etc. are apparently okay?

Slinging mud and bringing shady circumstances regarding a candidate's past to light is not something that only "the left" engages in; this is something that the right has done just as much.

Note to future candidates: Get in front of those things in your past that might confront you during your campaign; they will be brought to light.

Ha. I'm overseas. I get all my news via Volnation. Better yet, depending on the poster, I also quickly get a far left, left of center, centralist, right of center, far right, and libertarian slant without having to do much work.

Cain is done...

Only if this story blows up bigger than it appears to be right now. If this is all there is, he'll probably be able to come out as a sympathetic figure and maybe even fundraise off of it.

Nah, he's done.

That's a big if, if the GOP candidates decide to drill him about in front of millions of people than yes he's done. That's JMO though...
