Herman Cain

Unless more comes out, I don't see this as a fatal flaw.

Delusional.

Even if things stayed right where they are in terms of reported facts -- and they won't -- this is going to be talked about and talked about and talked about.

By the way, what say ye to this?

Cain: I didn't know there was a settlement.

Cain (two hours later): General counsel came in and told me about the settlement. It was small because there was no merit to it. Just the equivalent of a month or two severance.

News stories last night: One of the women got a year's salary.

He has continuously tried to minimize both whatever he did and also the settlements. He shouldn't have done that because now that is the story.

When did the left become so concerned with potential sex scandals? Usually the left embraces this type of thing. The hatred for black conservatives by the American left is disgusting.

I don't really think it's racially driven. They always attack anyone that makes them look like fools. Cain makes sense and the people are listening. So make him look bad in the sheep's eyes. They've been doing it forever, it's nothing new.

Truth has no race; "sexual harassment" is not a "sex scandal" it is an offense against another person. A "sex scandal" is having a mistress. These are distinct at the foundations.

Cain is making himself look bad. He has obviously been aware of this for about fifteen years. Maybe the accusations are baseless; however, to be so detached from common-sense as to think this story would not surface is utterly ridiculous. Regardless of what his economic platform is, the man is showing himself to be "absent-minded" at best and negligent at worst. Not exactly the kind of person I want running the country.

I agree with all that, but I think they are more aggressive when it's a black conservative, just like Clarence Thomas.

so many on the left still love Clinton and his act was immeasurably more heinous than what Cain did/didn't do.

I still don't see how this makes him any less competent to be out next President.

Well i'm sure Obama doesn't have any skeletons in his closet. He's working out just fine, vote for him.

So, you know exactly what it is that Cain did?

What does the left have to do with a GOP candidate outing the alleged sexual misconduct of another GOP candidate?

I agree, the man still has my support financially and my vote.

The fact of the harassment, by itself, would have been tough to overcome, but perhaps doable if the allegations weren't too egregious.

His problem now is the incredibly mismanaged way in which he responded. He looked angry, defensive, minimizing it, changing his story every couple of hours, etc. Given that he had 10 days' warning, it strongly suggests a tremendous arrogance and lack of professionalism on his part and the part of his campaign leadership.

That has become the story, really. And that I do not think he can overcome.
