Herman Cain

letting your stupidity shine through

You said that since the Politico did not provide exactly what happened that we are free to speculate. Therefore, I can speculate whatever I want, according to your world. My response was demonstrating the absurdity of such a statement by you; yet, I am the one who is stupid. That's rich.

He does regularly

I figured you would be the last to be insulting somebody along these lines. Not that I call you "stupid", but it seems you are the butt of many jokes around here.

I've clashed with TRUT in the past, stupid is one thing he's not. He arrives at his conclusions with reasonable logic, even if I disagree with his interpretation of events.

Cain seems guilty just judging his reaction and subsequent statements.

date rape isn't absurd? stupid

I'm not particularly concerned with these allegations. However, the mole hill IS a mountain whether or not Cain, his campaign, and his supporters would like to admit it. You cannot deny that it IS a big deal now.

I think it's a bit presumptuous to conclude his campaign is finished. If anything, his long-term response to this could solidify his standing as a candidate, although his short-term response has been extremely suspect.

It is absolutely absurd; yet, your permission allowed such an absurdity. Feel free to revoke such "freedom to speculate" or else, live with people using such a lack of constraint to postulate absurd (yet, entirely possible) consequences.

like I said, you are really reaching

For one, not that I really care but anyone who is ultra conservative around here gets jokes made towards them so I wear that as a badge of honor.

That's your opinion of him, mine is different. Besides if I remember correctly, you are a Ron Paul supporter so I don't really value your judgement.

You know this? Interesting. Provide a list of ten distinct policy areas and proof of where I stand regarding these policies.

LOL...it is likely he won't be able to articulate ten distinct policy areas

Like most(not all) of the conservatives on this board, golf balls is a reactionary searching for proof to support his already predetermined opinion

GAVol is on the left? I am on the left?

Just because one is not a self-delusional, Evangelical, Tea-Partier, does not make one "on the left".

I don't think I'm quite as ready to write Cain off as you are, but if you don't see something wrong with the way Cain has bungled this, you're nuts.

“There was more than one incident that my client received sexual harassment,” Bennett said. “She would like to speak out for the record, only because Mr. Cain has stated that he didn’t sexually harass anyone, that there wasn’t any substance to the allegations, and basically made it look like she was some type of frivolous claimant looking for money.”

According to Bennett, one of the stipulations of the confidentiality agreement was that neither party could make disparaging remarks about the other. Bennett said Cain violated that agreement on Fox News on Monday when he said that he had been told that the accuser’s performance in the workplace “was not up to par.”

“I think she’s upset about his statements and would like the record to be balanced and clear,” Bennett said.

The New York Times reported Wednesday that Cain’s other accuser received a full year’s salary, worth between $35,000 and $40,000, as a part of her severance package.

Does not sound good for Mr. Cain credibility if she comes forward and starts speaking to the media.....

WTF? That comment wasn't directed at me.

Regardless, I want you to explain your statement.

No doubt. But I don't think it's enough to sink his campaign. Apparently that view is completely absurd to a few on this board.

I have not once stated that it has sunk his campaign; I have stated that if he does not get in front of this story, then it will.

That's your problem and demonstrates bad judgment, IMO. Your view is too myopic. There are smarter people than you and I on every side of the political spectrum.

Imagine the upheaval he'd create if he walked up to a mic and said "I'm damaged goods and cannot win so I endorse Newt."
