Herman Cain

Sadly, it looks like a pattern is developing that will likely end Cain's run. Unlike liberals who like you will excuse the behavior of those who will advance their agenda... conservatives will withdraw their support from him.

If he is guilty and this does not go away soon... it will be just as offensive to conservatives that he was violating the trust of his wife as the particulars of an Sexual Harassment allegation.

But where were you with the "truth has no race" when Obama was getting a pass?

FTR, MANY things Clinton did far surpassed sexual harassment or "having a mistress". Broderick credibly accused him of attempted rape. Paula Jones' allegations were beyond simple sexual harassment. Even the woman who helped out him concerning Monica was subjected to retaliation which is an egregious form of sexual harassment.... but Clinton's apologist on the left never waivered no matter how hypocritical his actions forced them to be.

I never voted for Obama; I was firmly against him when he was running; I am still firmly against his policies. I do not know that I have ever given Clinton a pass and I only think he did well in office because he could not influence the GOP legislature.

I have not condemned Cain; I have stated that he needs to come forth and explain what happened so that the people voting can make an informed decision; I have also stated that he has bungled this from the word "go".

Sorry I responded the way I did. Thank you for the civil correction.

The double standard by the left does bother me however.

I will still hold a high standard for my vote. I was hopeful because of his ideals that Cain could be my guy. If he was running around propositioning women... and doesn't come clean... he has almost certainly lost my support.

Sadly, I don't see anyone left who is likely to get the nomination that I would vote for.

Good options are few and far between (I wrote my father's name in in 2008). I like Cain's determination to implement 9-9-9 on the way to implementing the Fair Tax. Unfortunately, Congress has more control over legislation than does the President. The President must strike me as a leader first, and a policy wonk somewhere further down the line.

Personally, I would like to see the abolishment of the popular vote for President. I would like to see a leader run on a platform of overhauling the current structure of the legislative branch, a call to the States to come together in a Constitutional Convention. I will be forever disappointed, though.

It would take a crisis to get us to that point... but one may be coming. But that crisis will likely break the US up into smaller states that will likely hold contempt for each other. The OWS crowd that thinks everything should be free to them... isn't going to find a lot of compassion among those busy creating the nation's wealth and vice versa. Those who want big gov't that assures "fair" outcomes are going to be at odds with those who believe people should be free and get what they get through their own initiative.

Guys like Limbaugh and Beck suggest that Obama is intentionally following Alinsky's principles to force a crisis that will result in a new socialist America. Intentional or not... the policies of the left are taking us to the brink... and the "progressive" right (establishment GOP/big gov't conservatives) for that matter. We cannot sustain the financial burden of big gov't... nor can we survive a situation where a large part of the society believes it is "entitled" to the wealth and product of others.

I don't know where it ends... but I honestly do not see a good outcome in the long run without some sort of "3rd Great Awakening". Beck talks about it. I see the necessity of it. But in all honesty... I don't completely trust him either. It would have to be completely organic but its effect would have to be pervasive.

More of this Glenn Beck style separatism talk. What is alarming is that you aren't alone.

separatism is standing on a corner down near wall street and calling out the economic foundation of an entire country.

And since you like calling out individual posters so much how is a lawyer able to post at 10:06am and on a regular basis throughout the day?

I'm not sure the harassment even matters anymore. I think it says a lot that Cain is surrounding himself with advisers that are this tone deaf.

This is the real issue - the bungling is a preview (right or wrong) of how issues; bigger issues would be handled.

Cain camp considering legal action against Politico - Election 2012 - The Washington Post

This is laughable; suing a publication for reporting a factual event?

The only possible lawsuit I could see would be a suit against one of the women for breaking the non-disclosure agreement. Yet, Cain admits to having broken the non-disclosure agreement years ago when he told Anderson about it.

Cain continues to fumble his campaign away by not just laying the facts of the case out there for everyone to judge.

the rasmussen poll released yesterday now has him in the lead. prior to that it was a dead heat

he went from 17 to 23

Right, from the ABC News poll conducted at the end of September to the poll conducted at the end of October, Cain went from 17-23.

Cain dropped 3 points in the Rasmussen (29% on 10/12; 26% on 11/2).

I would not be so quick to say that Cain is rising in the light of this story:

RealClearPolitics - Election 2012 - 2012 Republican Presidential Nomination

I suggest you look at the last table, which shows all of the publication dates of the polls and the dates over which the polls were administered.

in Rasmussen, Cain went from being in a tie to up 3

Does that mean that Cain rose or that Cain and Romney fell, Romney falling more, while Newt rose?

It certainly means that Cain has less support than he did (29% to 26%).

He has the lead, however, I would be cautious in qualifying that as "rising".

I think it's pretty clear that unless something more sinister comes out, Cain's support is still there. BUT . . . .I think Newt may be the one to watch as far as a challenger to Romney.
