Holy Crap -- basketball penalties

Well, it's not the extra phone calls or texts that get me. I've got to think that all programs do something of that sort, just can't believe he lied about it. But, if CBP takes his lumps and can still win, I will back the Vols Basketball Program. Should have thought about the consequences though. Other coaches are probably in their office trying to cover tracks as we speak, harsh penalties for sure. I just told my son that Bob the Builder was real, better go retract that!

We'll back them regardless, just not someone who lacks the integrity they preach about.

That's exactly right. Now is the time to back the program and those players more than ever. However, that doesn't mean that we have to like the hypocrite we have as a coach.

I tend to agree with Titanic. We've heard the admissions. We most likely haven't heard the worst part of the story. The 'aa has contracted for permanent rooms at Motel 6 on Chapman Hwy so they can destroy what's left of the fball and bball programs wout having to travel back and forth.

Isn't it time for Ham's boss to be taking some action. Are there any suits in charge on the hill, or it is left to the coaching staff to run the entire athletic dept. as they see fit wout having to answer to anybody but Ham, which obviously doesn't scare too many people:mad:?

What bothers me more than anything about this is that, personally, I had finally started to come back around on Pearl. He just spent all that capital and then some. I agree with line of thought that this likely isn't the end. If that line of thinking is correct, get Pearl and Hammy the hell out and start over. Damage control time.

I agree on Hamilton, but you don't run Pearl off over this, not on a first offense. Lets wait and see what the NCAA report says.

Says who? Pearl should be legitimately concerned that this is still an open book. If anything else comes to light, he should get the ax immediately.

Just my opinion.

That's why I went back and edited, in case this was isolated and a legitimate one time mistake. However, I have a feeling it isn't. The problem here is, there is some stuff that was brought to my attention, and others around this forum, that I was afraid would surface for a while. A lot of it dealt with a certain felonious former player. If that stuff is really out there, this is going to get worse before it gets better.

hey LawVol... have you never told a lie or misrepresented the truth... I wonder, and if you did are you a hypocrite aswell as our coach? Just wondering? :dunno:

When I start holding myself out as being such a "family guy" devoted to my religion while cheating on my wife, turning other schools in for cheating while I, myself, am cheating and lying in attempts to cover it up, come back and talk to me.

No, but you do seem to think it is ok to hold yourself out as a professional, representing a very noble occupation and then you say you do the same things when you need to, but then you are NOT a hypocrite.... somehow I don't follow the reasoning when you hold him to higher standard than yourself

I like I really like. Why do I like AGGRESSION to much but pure AGGRESSION. Show me that he wants to win show me that his whole heart is in it. If Phillsbury would have had that kind of aggressiveness our football team wouldn't be where it's at. It may be wrong but GO GET'M PEARL.

I think he has been good for UT Basketball so far, I have not seen, nor have I hear it reported that we have any sanctions coming down on us other than those self emposed by the University... Unfortunately, I think the wait and see approach has become synomous with UT sports.
