I am 100% convinced Butch Jones will bring us back

I feel like 6-6 and a bowl game is a successful season for us. Not only would we get a bowl game but we get an extra 4 weeks of practice wich is going to be crucial for our young team.

I feel like 6-6 proves absolutely nothing but that this staff can beat teams when they have a talent advantage. Dooley did the same his first year.

Stop making excuses. This may not be a championship roster but they aren't devoid of talent either. The OL isn't "poor talent". In fact, that is the most glaring indication that the coaching isn't great. They have regressed.

And no... the talent level has nothing to do with how well they are coached. Some pretty bad teams have given good teams fits because they were well coached and well prepared.

Keep up with the flawed logic.

UF's defense is CLEARLY much more talented than UT's entire team.

Please name all this "talent" UT has. The O-line does not fit the mold of what Butch wants to do, not to mention all the coaches they've had to go through.

If you can't see this team is devoid of talent at rb, wr, db, dl, te, and most importantly, severely at the most important position of qb, versus even a supposed down team like Fla, just stop watching.

Horsecrpppp.

UT has better RB's than UF. Theirs looked much worse today. They have talent but no experience at WR... coaches have to scheme to put them in positions to make plays. The starting secondary is not a bad unit nor do they lack talent. Swafford has played well and not just today.

The DL doesn't lack talent. It just doesn't. It was tough losing Salisbury. He was probably playing the best of any of them. But the DL has made plays.

Downs is underutilized... pretty much everyone else is hurt.

Where you see a lack of adequate QB talent... I see a scheme that doesn't give them opportunities to succeed. Seldom do they throw to receivers in voids created by the design of the play... and UT's young receivers aren't good enough to get open on their own very often yet.

And no... I'll keep watching thanks. Disagreeing with the blind about the color of the leaves doesn't somehow make me less of a lover of nature or less knowledgeable about trees.

You just confirmed that you have not watched a single game this season.

No. By all means. Just keep making excuses and denying the obvious. There is nothing I can do for you if you won't open your eyes and be honest with yourself.

I hope Jones can follow through with the words he spoke after the game. I truly do. I HOPE he wasn't just blowing smoke about the team coming around and getting "better". I hope his allusions to a "breakthrough" weren't just coach speak trying to keep spirits up.

But right now... it is just words. Nothing more than what Dooley did. Nothing more than what Kiffin did. Nothing more than Fulmer did following 2005.

Pot, meet kettle.

I see no attempt at justifying your previous claims, in this post.

Wow. I hope Jones does turn the program around... but the denial here is amazing. There aren't hopeful signs in what we've seen the last two weeks and this is NOT a team devoid of talent. Discipline was a HUGE problem today as time after time UT lost contain. The offensive scheme isn't fooling anyone except occasionally UT's QB and WR's.

I have absolutely NO desire for Jones to fail. I would LOVE to see signs of real change. They just aren't there. UF did everything but beg UT to take the game in the first half today... and UT gave it right back to them. MUCH of that was poor preparation, poor execution, poor decisions, and poor playcalling.

How many walk on's were in the two deep when we won championships? How many? ZERO idiot poster. We have several now and our QB is not tee, manning, or even ainge. We have some talent but for you to think we stack up in talent with the upper tier of the SEC just makes you void of football knowledge talent. We will find about butch and staff over the next three years. But fans like you have already answered the call that you are void of any true football knowledge and are just an ignorant moron.

This is a tough-ass schedule we have this year! #1 and #2 on the road as well as old nemesis Florida and Missouri, where we have never played before.

So what's your ideal record for this team?

I think this is a team with the talent to win 7 regular season games IF... IF... Jones is the right guy.

If he really does coach them up and improves throughout the year... they'll do that.

In a way... yes. He burned a lot of my patience. I am tired of losing. Tired of hearing platitudes and clichés. Tired of hoping for better days/plays then not seeing them.

I actually wanted Dooley held to a standard. I more than gave him the benefit of the doubt until he had ultimately failed.

Maybe it isn't fair... but I want to see Jones do something REALLY SOON to prove to me in a tangible, visible, meaningful way that he's better than Dooley. I have not seen anything in the last two games that looks any different from what we saw during Dooley's first two years. In fact, even Sal allowed only 6 more points to a BETTER UF O than UT allowed today against an O playing its 2nd string QB for the first time.
In case you weren't there; Murphy is a player and if he started against Miami they would be 2-0. The defense was on the field the whole first half and continued to contain the gators. I was in section 47 and was screaming the whole game, I was exhausted at halftime and can only imagine how the defense felt. I think Florida had like 22 minutes of possession, there is no way that defense can hold up in the second half. We saw the results in the second half. Tennessee never gave up, they kept fighting until the end. Me, as a graduate of 98, I'll take that as growing pains. I never want to see our University quit and I didn't tonight. Also; for your information as I was walking away from BHGS tonight, I spoke to numerous gator fans who said that they can't wait to see the rivalry return.

My basic claim is that I do not see any signs in the last two games that suggest ANYTHING has gotten appreciably better. Further, I don't see anything scheme wise to take pressure off of UT's young players on O and put them in a position to succeed.

In short, I just do not see any signs of the coaching greatness it will take to get UT back to the top. As I have said ad nauseum, I have NOT written Jones off yet... I am just looking for reasons to HOPE. I don't see any. The one noticeable change is that the OL actually looks worse than they have their previous 3 years.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say. I see the problem... I just didn't see a solution coming from the staff. That's where it has to come from.

And why do you try to build this strawman? Who said anything at all about a championship this year?
ZERO idiot poster.
Stay classy, OK?

Could be Ainge... the OC definitely isn't Cut.

We have some talent but for you to think we stack up in talent with the upper tier of the SEC just makes you void of football knowledge talent.
If you think UF played anything like an upper tier team or did not give UT many opportunities to win the game... you need to work on that beam in your own eye before picking at my speck.

We will find about butch and staff over the next three years. But fans like you have already answered the call that you are void of any true football knowledge and are just an ignorant moron.

Wow. Disagreeing with you makes someone an ignorant moron. Grow up. If you can't handle disagreement then just don't post rather than showing yourself to be classless by ridiculous and TRULY ignorant namecalling.

Yes. We will find out over the next 3 years. If you weren't COMPLETELY ignorant of what I have CONSTANTLY posted here... you'd know that I have said the same thing many times.

Against 2 top 20 teams, in 2 of the most hostile environments. Do you not see how dumb that sounds? If not, there is no point in even responding anymore.

I saw a step this evening....the boys didn't quit... they were out-manned but still had the fire. The solution comes with recruiting and as of now we have the 3rd ranked recruiting class in the nation. Yes, our offense is crap but if you could have seen how the defense reacted to adversity,in person minus commercial delays, it was incredible. Boys are young, don't throw the baby out with the bath water. In two years, I won't be the one signing the bet check!

Your Response Is Dumb. You Want To Look At Ranking And Results To Make Your Weak Argument.

Look At Situations. Look At Play Calling. Look At Leaving A Horrible Qb In Too Long. Look At The Gutless Punting Last Week. Look At The Soft Offense.

Those Are All More Troubling Than The Actual Losses.

I think I just read a favorable comparison of Worley to Ainge, but that couldn't have been possible...
