I think we can consider Duke, Indiana, UNC, Florida, and Louisville our main rivals. There have been many memorable games between all these teams and UK.

Kansas isn't really a rival, we never play them much anymore. 3 out of the last 5 games have been in the tourney.

Tennessee was nearing a rivalry. The Chris Lofton years were especially fun for me, some great games for both sides.

Exactly this. UL and IU are Kentuckys basketball rivals. Duke, UNC, that is maybe what you call "secondary" rivals.

Florida is now a conference rival. UT became somewhat a rival for many because kicking the crap out of them in hoops has always been UK's one solace to make up for football.

If being one-sided historically means it's not a rivalry, then the Cats and Vols would not be rivals in pretty much anything, men's or women's. The two sides hate each other way too much though. Consider what it would do to UT football to start losing to UK every other year, or to UK men's basketball to start losing to UT half the time, etc. Neither side wants to lose any of the games in the sports they dominate the other side in.

I actually had typed that out and then deleted it. To me, Duke will always have the rival feel to the game. UNC was a good rivalry while we played them every year. It was one of the few non-conference games I went to every year it was in Rupp (UL being the other).

I wonder how hot Calipari's seat will become if he misses the 2013 NCAAs and the 2014 Final Four. I say that, because expectations for next year's team will be very high. People are going to expect the kind of success of 2010-12 next year, and if they don't get it, they may become fed up with how he runs the program.

Losing to UT by 30 and then missing the NCAAs would normally get you fired at KY, but this is sandwiched in the middle of winning it all and bringing in yet another top-ranked recruiting class.

You want proof he cheats?...Go check out the players parking lot and tell me what cars they are driving...I think you will be quite surprised....Ever wondered how an 18 year old can afford a cadillac escalade?...I guess mom and dad are well off huh? :eek:lol: A lot of those kids come from broken homes and are raised by single parents or even grand parents....But all of a sudden they have these nice cars to drive...Kinda makes you think doesn't it? :thumbsup:

Sending in a walkon who never plays and assigning him to Wiltjer led to UK going on a game-ending run.
We deserved to win by 30+ based on how this game went. It's not like we led by 15-20 all day and then ran it up in the closing minutes after multiple Cats fouled out. We weren't going to put the end of the bench in with several minutes remaining and allow the final score to end up 77-62.

Replying about the talk about rivals;

Teams I'd rather beat instead of UT
Duke
Louisville
Indiana
UNC
UConn
Florida
UCLA
..and almost any Big East team. And its not even close. UT isnt even in the same discussion as those teams mentioned....as far as a desire to beat them.

Why? Losing to UT, USC, UGA, LSU, etc. doesnt sit well with me, but if I had to lose a regular season game it'd be against them. As I said before, they havent accomplished anything. No titles, no final fours, they've never ended UK's season or left an uneasy feeling. UK fans that have close friends that are UT fans, or live close to the state of TN will probably disagree.
I dont hate UT, I honestly dont even dislike them. The fact that this board has over a dozen UK fans should tell you something. The hatred/rivalry/desire to beat/hate UT isnt there like it is with other schools. Kind of funny how its not mutual...the hatred for UK is thick on this board.

I wish the hatred for UT was thick, then maybe I could sell my tickets for something anywhere relatively close to the Florida, UNC or Indiana game.

Some UK fans openly tell us they like our board better than the UK boards.

I'll never forget the 40-101 or the 88-58. I don't recall watching much of the 40-101 though. I was growing up in a Cat house. I didn't became a fulltime Vol until later, after I left the state.

ChiliDog is basically Judge_Smails 2.0. The difference is that the Judge's act occurred while KY was #1. Chili is here while the Cats are in a rare "rebuilding" year.

If UK was #1 right now, Chili would be every bit as obnoxious as the Judge was, IMO.
