I think we can get Bob Stoops

We won't, because we can't afford it. Also, look at it like this, we hired Dooley with a huge buyout, do you now think the next coach would want one as well?? UT has NEVER been good at coaching contracts.

Since when is Mike Hamilton or Doug Dickey making this hire?

You are not this dense.

I don't get the infatuation with Gruden personally. Yes, he won a SB--with Dungy's players. He was barely a .500 coach at Tampa. Discounting the SB with Dungy's players, he was actually below .500. Stoops would definitely be better, but isn't a realistic option.

And Callahan had the same name for all plays... Gruden knew what the raiders were running... Besides, he is the best analyst on tv...

If we borrow money from Jim, let's go get Harbaugh.

When he left Stanford for the 49'ers, I was praying for a Sabanesque situation where he completely bombed in the NFL and got canned just about the time we got rid of Dooley. Ah well...

Yes, he didn't rebuild the team from scratch, did he?? How many players were on the roster that Dungy brought in??

So Dungy beat Gruden in that Super Bowl.

You guys can play this dumb argument all you want to, he still won in the NFL. With the Raiders. And the Bucs. Let that sink in.

Remember how everyone felt about Fulmer in the mid 2000's before 08? That is how a good portion of the fan base at OU is starting to feel about Stoops, they feel they don't reach their portential year in and year out. Now with that said, I doubt Stoops would leave.

If that's how they feel they are ****ing stupid. He has literally won the Big 12 seven out of thirteen years he has coached Oklahoma

I was about to say I think he is the last coach to make the raiders relevant for more than a year....

Stoops is another pipe dream.. He's turned down teams time and time again.. We're arguing over being able to buy Dooley out.. We'd have to back the Brinks truck up to Stoops house to even get consideration.. Not happening...

Bob Stoops just moved into a brand new house. He has kids in high school and middle school. He is at a winning program that gives him everything he wants. He is beloved by the fans and the community. He is not coming to Tennessee.

+1. Agree

So what exactly have you heard out of interest? Would love to think he would even listen if we called.

I don't know if he is interested, I've just heard things very similar to what Rex alluded to. I think that he has done all he can in Norman. I definitely think it is worth watching.

Bob stoops vs SEC talent and coaching..... Idk, he can barely/rarely win the big 12 these days.

I would love this, but I just don't see why he would.

No logical reason other than wanting to coach in the SEC
