I love everything Rick Barnes has done for this program. But I hope Danny makes his choice independent of Rick. Coaches almost always make the wrong choice when it comes to their successor-John Scheyer is a rare exception. It almost never works out.

There's plenty. Also on that resume' are bullet points of lying to an administration, lying to the NCAA and unforgivable insubordination. Another bullet point is failure to support assistants. Yeah, there are a lot of fans who would welcome him back. All fan bases have their share of idiots

So there are plenty of good coaches that have a resume that compete with Bruce's yet you can't name them?

And this notion that his issues at Tennessee are somehow still a factor is clownish.

Bill Self is still coaching at Kansas
Cal has coached almost 15 years after his issues at Memphis
Roy Williams faced no consequences at UNC
Bruce has been coaching in the SEC for 10 years now


But sure lets try to make something irrelevant that happened over 15 years ago and make it a hot pressing issue...

He's never going to coach here again. He's not a candidate for OUR job whenever Barnes retires. He shouldn't be rehired here because of his behavior while he was our coach. My point is that there are plenty of coaches who have not betrayed their schools and are fine coaches. His prior bad acts here are not irrelevant

Name them please.


And yes, something that happened when some of our players were still in kindergarten are irrelevant. Bruce served his time and has become one of the best coaches in the country at SEC foe..... But sure, lets go along with the idea that what he did 15 years ago is somehow relevant and a bigger mark on the resume compared to his previous 10 years of coaching at Auburn lol.

I never said there were plenty with his W/L record. I said there were plenty that haven't betrayed their schools. Bless your heart that you would even think about hiring him back HERE. Whether YOU like it or not, his previous bad behavior is relevant, and extremely so, to this particular university.

Maybe you just don't get it

You said there are plenty of good options out there that are better. Name them. Has nothing to do with a W/L record.... Bruce is a top 5-top 8 coach in the country. Name the "plenty" of coaches that would be a hire on his level. This isn't rocket science.

You said there are plenty, yet when asked multiple times for an example or two, you start crying about something 15+ years ago.

DW will make his own decision. But I bet he gets input from Barnes.

Right. DW will also get input from the team about the kind of coach they need. He always does.

Of course, in this case, the returning team would be about 4 players. 😂

I hope that Barnes stays another 3-4 years. However, he is going to have to hit the portal quickly if he wants to be a top 10 team next year. We lose a lot of talent and rebuilding for next year will be tough. If he does decide to retire, I am confident White will fin an excellent replacement. I don't like Will Wade as a person, but his team pulled a pretty good shocker yesterday.

lol. He’s a freshman who has had to sit because we have one of the all time great Pg’s in Tennessee history. I just hope he cashes in during the offseason on this learning experience.
