John Harwood lets one slip on MSNBC and tells the truth about these people fear mongering over the President speaking to school children next week.
Novotny: John, what about this controversy over opposition to Obama's speech to school children?

Harwood: I've got to tell you Monica, I've been watching politics for a long time and this is, this one is really over the top. What it shows you is there are a lot of cynical people who try to fan controversy and let's face it, in a country of three hundred million people there are a lot of stupid people too, because if you believe that's it's somehow unhealthy for kids for the President to say work hard and stay in school, you're stupid.

Novotny: Ouch.

Harwood: In fact, I'm worried for some of those kids, I'm worried for some of those kids of those parents who are upset. I'm not sure they're smart enough to raise those kids.

Well if they did they never informed the school where I work and I've been there going on 23 years.

They visit them, send messages, etc. Bush did the day of 9/11, remember?

Out of curiosity, are you one of the loons who is all worked up that Obama is going to use this as an opportuniy to use his death ray eyes to hypnotize the kids to vote for communist dictators and death panels? Or are you one of the sane ones who sees this for exaclty what it is, which is a simple public service message?

I just read the text of the speech. Man, are you going to look like an idiot for claiming he's "indoctrinating" anyone.

Nothing political in his speech at all. In fact, he encourages them to study hard and stay in school and reminds them that 250 years ago there were students just like them who were responsible and grew up to found the country.

I'll bet that's the exact same speech he planned BEFORE intelligent Americans called his hand.

Damn right, he toned it down. He knows he's going to be crucified at the first hint of a political message. They have already changed the lesson plan.

And where in Obama's speech is he talking about health care or stimulus or any of the controversial items with which he is associated?

The Repubilcans, FOX , and the right fringe pushing this thing look really silly for it. I know many fiscal and social conservatives that really dislike Obama, but to a one, when asked about this, they roll their eyes and say its really ridiculous, that its just the haters out in force, ginning up something.

Seems its only the extremists and their mindless followers who really think there ever was an issue here.

Once health care drifted off the front page, the hate machine had to find something. Don't worry, this week or next they will move on to something else.

I think it is no secret that so many of the things they are manufacturing to make this president fail have these sort of historical or even biblical kind of frame of reference. They won't go so far as to say that he is some sort of supernatural force in carnate as part of Revelations, but they are coming close here and there.

Negative. Not in the course of his presidency. If America doesn't like it, then he will be gone. If you mean long-term agenda, as in if what he sees as America is realized, I still do not think that means the end of America. End of what makes America great?
