8-4 is neither good nor bad. It’s clear we aren’t as good in certain positions. It will be inline with my expectations, which were 9-3, but 8-4 could happen. If so, it will be considered a bad year for Heupel, and rightfully so.
Vs. the previous years all the way back to 2007, all 15 of them, when our best records were back to back 8-4 years under Butch Jones. That was the BEST we could do. Now 8-4 seems very disappointing.
That's a big difference, and I will take it. I didn't expect us to go 11-1 this year, and 9-3 is still very much possible.
Team has to play better, but...for whatever reason, we rarely play well in the Swamp.

Great, level headed post! Glad to see one for a change. Regardless of the reactionary idiots, we are still far ahead of expectations in year 3 of a rebuild from disaster. Many of our fans are just too stupid and reactionary to get it.It will be inline with my expectations, which were 9-3, but 8-4 could happen. If so, it will be considered a bad year for Heupel, and rightfully so.

Well, when you put it like that .. but now they need to correct what they can and make it work to the best of everyone’s ability… starting with effort and attitude and not waiting to show some fire until the third quarter to rally from behind or when you want to street fight when you lost..that is what kills meLosing half of your offense to the nfl and your OC and a lot of studs on defense, 8-4 doesn’t seem like a complete failure.
2020 was the Covid year, he can come back next year regardless of whether he takes a redshirt this year.. If Mays don't play vs USCe we lose because I've seen nothing that says we can stop Rattler and we will need to outscore them in a O high score game. I figure if Mays don't come back by USCe he should just Medical RS. He needs more playing time to translate to NFL IMO.

I thought it would be better than 8 and 4 but I thought the secondary would be improved with new players. Little did I know we’d be playing nearly all of the problem DB’s from last year. I also didn’t realize the O line would be as bad an issue as it is. Thought the transfers could handle it but the absence of Mays is major. Combine those two key position groups with problems and it’s an issue we (and I’m sure the coaches) didn’t count on.It will be inline with my expectations, which were 9-3, but 8-4 could happen.
