GPS and Drive is a cheap, reliable navigation app. You get first 30 days of voice guidance for free.

Keep in mind that the GPS and Pandora apps will drain a lot of data.

Theoretically the 4S is the 5th version so the next should be iPhone 6.

3GS is AT&T only though. Verizon customers can only get the 4 or the 4S.

I downloaded iOS5 and like the new features. Wireless sync is on top of that list but the new message center is pretty cool. It comes with a free iCloud account that allows you to automatically update contacts, calendar and sync photos with your pc, appleTV, iPad, etc.

Also like that you can go directly to the camera from lock screen...and use the volume button to snap the pic in landscape orientation.

Is it possible to delete factory apps? I want to turn my 3GS into a glorified iPod touch, so I want to get rid of the useless factory apps (phone and such) to free up more memory.

Not sure about the jailbreak but it might work. The whole concept of using the phone as a hotspot is allowing the phone to share it's 3G connection. That is impossible if it has no service.
