How come?

I dunno what sense that would make for Danica's dad to go after Hornish's father in that situation. It'd make more sense for Kanaan's dad to be there and go at it with Sam Sr., heh.

That was quite the little incident. Sam vs. TK. Sam Sr. vs. TK. Wheldon there holding TK back. Marco coming out of nowhere to push HIS dad out of the way. Then Sam Sr. vs. the dude in the white shirt followed by two guys from Penske I'd imagine throwing the white shirt dude down.
It wasn't him. They interviewed him after the incident (exactly what I was referring to with the ban him from the track joke). Either he or Bev Patrick is on camera it seems nearly every week. They just come across to me as these overzealous parents trying to live through their kids accomplishments.

wow. looks like i picked quite the race to miss.

oh well, i'll be ready for Nashville next weekend. i love that track.

Oh, OK. I gotcha. :peace2:

Fallout/penalties from the pit scuffle in Watkins Glen:

Tony Kanaan and Sam Hornish Jr have been fined an unspecified amount for their part in the brawl, which was triggered by their actions on the track.
Andretti Green Racing and Penske have been fined $25,000 each for unsportsmanlike conduct, and the drivers and teams have been placed on probation until the end of the year.
The two other people primarily involved in the altercation, Sam Hornish Sr and Anthony Fedele, have also been punished.

Hornish Sr has been banned from the pitlane for one race and also put on probation, while Fedele, who had been granted a pass through Andretti Green, has had his pass and any further credential requests suspended indefinitely.

Unbelievable. Postponed until tomorrow at 1EST.

One freakin' speck of rain on the radar in Tennessee... and it just happened to be right over the track.

Dixon wins from the pole. Great three wide pass on Wheldon and Franchitti to go from 3rd to 1st to take the lead for good.

tell me about it. i could not believe the only place in TN that had rain was the track.

oh well. just another excuse to go back to the track today and drink more beer.

overall though, it was a pretty boring race. i don't care much for Dixon.

Because the racing is boring. These tracks wouldn't be so bad if Nascar would stop throwing these stupid debris cautions that keep bunching the field up for 50 laps until Nascar decides to throw another one.

Well there you go, it's NASCAR's fault.

I'm partial to all of the tracks and appreciate the challenge that each provides, so I really don't find any of the tracks boring. NASCAR's "debris" yellows don't really determine how good a track is racing wise, but they definitely ruin what racing that does go on at each track.

I've never understood Michigan being considered a "boring" track... it's wide, cars can run all over it... what more should a fan want?

All of the "cookie cutters" would be just fine if NASCAR would leave them alone and not repave them every few years.

...and that last thing is just a NASCAR problem. The IndyCars can pretty much do what they want on any track, new pavement or not.

The IRL races at Michigan were especially killer back before the rule changes in the IRL that made the passing harder... which, there's nothing wrong with that. Passing shouldn't be easy.
