Is secession the answer?

You guys been watching too much Red Dawn.

Nah...just do not expect battle lines being formed in a cornfield. Modern society is very fragile. The dang ecomony crashed for a virus that is 99% non lethal after all.

Well, that is a change that will occur over decades... I was looking for something a bit faster. But then again, maybe that is just it. Slow and steady wins the race. Look how long liberals have been playing their game.
Utilities other than Twitter and Facebook with bring urban areas to their knees fairly quickly.

We may fight over it again.

I don't recommend fighting the 1st Armored Division of the Army or the 2nd Marine Division with weapons you bought at a gun show, however. It will be a considerably shorter Civil War next time, if a group decides to try it.

So you agree the populous needs access to be able to obtain the same equipment since that’s what the 2A is partially about.

Yep. Some of our resident insurrectionists don’t understand that one Army division, one submarine or one aircraft carrier probably has more firepower at there disposal than all 70 million put together. It ain’t 1860 anymore where two lines form about 100 yards from each other and start firing. You are correct. A new “Civil War” wouldn’t last long.

A new civil war wouldnt be fought like pre WW1 wars dude. Do you know what would happen to this country if it had to worry about insurrectionists around every corner? The military would have issues fighting a non traditional war here like they do everywhere else around the world, i dont know if you have been paying attention but we aren't very good at that.

That's a mischaracterization of the left. Mostly the left wants to ensure people aren't entirely left behind or denied basic resources necessary for life, and think society has a basic moral responsibility in that regard.

If anything, I'd say the right's fondness for strong, paternalistic leaders is much more likely to lead to the authoritarian state you contemplate.

Lol, just stupid. People left behind? Ask all the socialist countries about hoe many people are left behind. This babysit mentality you leftists have is just dangerous. You see the results all throughout the world.

Cut off food supplies to the Dem cities and it would be like Vicksburg. Hell, I dare say the trucking industry would not show up for work for city deliveries and we would not have to do anything.
Speaking of which, the way it is beiing formed now, can an industry just not deny service to one of the political opposition?

I love all of this chest thumping about how our military would step in and crush any citizens on a whim. I’d reckon most wouldn’t raise a firearm against civilians. In fact I’d guess many would step between the civilians and the military. Not necessarily SIDE with the civilians but definitely provide protection.

Political party isnt a protected class so I guess they could.

This is all tying together. If I as a business owner,,,ie Twitter, can deny service for polictical belief, could a UPS CEO not refuse to deliver to wherever, a trucking or agri busines say no more deliveries to a city? They can have their SM...I wantta eat.

Yep. Hey private companies right? But you know how it will be transmitted on the news. SM is a private company and free to do as they like while trucking is a necessity and thus they have a DUTY to provide their services and if they don’t they will be ordered to do so. Book it.

I could see that, as long as they aren't attacked. If stupid civilians attack military across the board they will defend themselves, but given a chance to think/soul search I agree a portion will either support it or be neutral. Unless they witnesses some sort of atrocity, then I think they'll defend the weak.

Agreed. They won’t just take getting shot at but I seriously doubt many would accept firing on civilians as a lawful order and comply. It’s a law enforcement action. Not their cup of tea. There are means to put military in a law enforcement role but in a civil dispute as this would become Id expect many will reject it.

Disagree, we have the best counter-insurgency force in the world. It subdued Afghanistan and Iraq despite massive aid from Russia and Iran to the insurgents. You can't "win" Afghanistan because they live to find anyone who isn't from their specific village, but we reduced them to an ineffective insurgency that has to use terror attacks. They are the guys who beat the Russians. But you can't really "win" a war in a country that is agrarian and where its people have never really had a central government.

Taking out a bunch of fat-assed yahoos in Idaho and Georgia ain't going to be much of a problem especially when the vast majority of the country is not going to join the fight on their side and the FBI already knows who they are since they can't seem to understand the word "covert" and keep posting on social media.
