What other country was formed with no direct historical ancestral nation-state or culture? The vast majority of Israeli Jews moved there when the State of Israel was created. There is no nation on Earth with an origin like the modern state of Israel.

It was this unorthodox engineered transplantation of people that led to the animosity of the rest of the Arab world. Israel was founded for Jews, thus these people hate Jews. Throw in the history of war and territory grabs, and it is pretty obvious why muslims tend to have a very negative take on Israel.

So Israel has the most US bases of any ME country? No.

So Israel is our biggest trade partner in the ME? No.

What exactly is Israel doing for us, again? Fighting it's own enemies?

So the short of this discussion is, Israel should have never been allowed to come back to Israel and the lands that Israel won from the two major wars is their fault?

We do have a history of it..... Korea... Vietnam...........etc....

What's the point? Should we not support Israel more than other ME countries? Which of the following should we be more close allies with?

1. Jordan
2. Syria
3. Egypt
4. Saudi Arabia
5. Lebanon
6. Iraq
7. UAE
8. Quatar

Does Israel not align better with us than any of these? With the exception of maybe UAE and Quatar, are any of these countries free of terrorism support and people that wish to see the absolute and complete destruction of Israel?

UAE and Quatar are not free of people who wish to see the absolute and complete destruction of Israel. The US isn't, for that matter.

And no, I am not so sure we should support Israel over the entire field, just because they're Israel.

Why not try and FAIRLY solve it... by that I mean us, the Americans. We are the only ones that can force a solution. But our leaders don't have the balls to tell Israel what to do.

We did it with Jordan/Israel and Egypt/Israel.

It's not just because they are Israel. It's because their interests and our interests are more aligned than ours and any of the other ME countries. They are our ally for a reason. It doesn't mean they are always right but I'd align with them in heartbeat over any other ME country.
