Jack Youngblood played the entire '79 NFL play-offs, including the SuperBowl, with a broken leg. Hell, he even played in the ProBowl a week after the SuperBowl. Same position as Jacques, DE, and Jacques can't play with a broken thumb? Players nowadays are soft.
FTR, Youngblood is one of the very few Gators alum I admire. Guy had no quit in him. Very balls to the wall type of player.
hell i played high school ball with a broken hand and i was a tight end!

If Jaques is rested for the Austin Peay game... it doesn't matter... we don't need him as much in that game .... If it means that he is rested and fully prepared for the Oregon /Florida game...
Fine by me ...
JMO though
..... about being out, and possibly not playing for 4-6 weeks.
I suspect you have NO CLUE as to the extent of the injury. I venture to guess the medical folks do. I'll trust and go with their judgment.
He had surgery- that should be enough to tell you the injury was fairly serious. I don't care if you played HS ball, or have other expertise on Smith's specific injury, don't blindly slam a player for his treatment for an injury.
Get real..... don't you think if he could play, he would?
My son injured his thumb in a FB game. Though he was able to finish the game, his injury required surgery. He not only had pins installed in his hand, but he also had a contraption extending from inside his hand to the exterior to 'hold things in place.' On the bright side, with a 4-6 week projected absence, he was back in the game 3 weeks later. I'm not suggesting this is what J. Smith has, as none of us know.
Regardless, how about all you gladiator-in-your-own-mind types give it rest, as you don't know jack.
