he's also working without all the restrictions all the previous coaches had.

He's done a good job there in a very down period of the SECe. Couple that with a weak OOC schedule and it's not as impressive as it's made out to be.

is he ready for a place like Penn St? Probably but all the Texas/NFL talk makes me laugh a bit.

Agreed. Doesn't matter how you stack it up, he has a win streak going against us, albeit 2, but still a streak. He has "our number" the last couple of years, wouldn't say he owned us, but he's got us none the less.

And yes it pisses me off to no end...

Jay Gruden to Redskins. So if Franklin was waiting on that to decide on PSU, his decision is clear now.

This year, he beat us in a low scoring game with the help of our penalties, while we played our 4th string QB. Unless he was breaking our QB's thumbs, he does not have our number. He has been fortunate.

It was reported yesterday that the Redskins would not interview Franklin anyways. They said an inside source felt he was going to PSU.

Obviously we can't beat him. Hate to say that but I hope he goes to PSU so we can get back to dominating the black and gold again. A new coach will have trouble bringing in good recruits to Vandy.

I completely disagree. Title should read, Because of Vols Franklin needs to exit Vandy

He got his a$$ kicked in recruiting and that spells a major crash in his stock is just ahead if he sticks around.

I'm strictly talking about his recruiting. A poster said he's average and used a consensus top 35 class to prove his point. At UT, I'd say a top 35 class, does signify you're probably an average recruiter. But having nothing less than a top 35 class in his 3 yrs at Vandy, and multiple top 25 classes, says he's a damn good recruiter and on the verge of being an elite one.

He's not winning with 5* talent. It's called doing more with less and that's what makes him a really good coach.

and his recruiting is being done without the restrictions previous Vandy coaches dealt with. Finishing 9th or 10th in the conf is not elite
