James Franklin is supposedly....

Nobody is debating that. Boca was pointing out 1 season trying to discredit CBJ's conference titles. Just reminding him there are 3 others.

So he won 2 conf. titles while at CMU. At Cincy, there was a 3-way tie in 2011, and a 4-way tie in 2012 (half the conference!). Winning 9 games in the SEC is easily equal to any of those. I'm not sure what conference CMU is in.

And Cincy lost the tiebreaker both times.

It cracks me up that posters rip Franklin but praise Jones, when their resumes are very similar in terms of winning % and wins over teams with winning records.

Somehow 3 and 4-way conference title splits and 2 conference titles from some mid-major conference trump winning 9 games at Vandy.

CMU is in the MAC

There's a new James Franklin thread started about every 3 days on VolNation.....so yes, he owns us right now - at least mentally. And when a program like Vandy gets 2 in a row on you, they own you.

Agree to disagree.....1 loss to Vandy=they got us....2nd loss=we blew it.....3rd loss=Vandy owns us :dunno:

BTW....CBJ haters on here claim that isn't your grandpa's Vandy anymore...2nd coming of Spurrier-fied Florida.

its also funny bama fans used to make fun of us when the kiffin disaster happened. now they are trying to convince themselves that he will be awesome for bama.

I don't think anyone was making fun of Tennessee for what he did or didn't do on the field.

I agree with you on straight comparisons based on wins.

I'm curious who you or others here would choose: Franklin or CBJ.

It would be a difficult choice if you took any bias out. I like Jones. I wish he would do away with the slogans and Mickey Mouse antics but he's proven he can recruit like a madman.

Yeah Bama fans did and still do....now the cancer is Saban's to have it sounds like. Kiffin always has an agenda...and it is not in the best interest of Bama.

Really? On the field, Kiffin's the best thing that has happened to Tennessee in the better part of a decade.

Then why has YOUR fan base mocked him? Trying to justify it is a great hire has already begun with you :eek:lol: Bama fans here at my job are ready to burn the building down  Absolutely hilarious!

10-4, 10-3 and 9-4 all inside the past "decade"...

Out of the last six years, however, Kiffin's 7-6 is the best we've had. Granted he did get quite a few good players from Fulmer's team. Eric Berry is a good example.

But I would easily trade that season for a recruiting class that kept more than 3 players. That class had more fails than an Alabama Shotgun Wedding.

So Franklin goes to Penn State & Kiffin joins Saban at Bama on the same day? "Breaking Bad" in the SEC! Wish I could hear Small Mike (alias Cosby Cattleman) pontificate about these developments!
